This really was a great product! We had a serious infestation of fruit flies totally out of the blue, no clue why but WOW IT WAS HORRENDOUS!!!! I have absolutely no idea why we had such a bad case of them but it was horrible. I am talking TONS of those nasty critters… literally hundreds!!! Ughhh!!!!! ! I bought this gel drain product as well as fruit fly traps for the counter. As a sidenote **do NOT buy the RAID apple countertop traps. They are USELESS and do not work at all.** The countertop traps we bought were I believe TERO (?) and they were also shaped like apples. They worked great. To use: I washed all of my dishes, threw out all trash, cleaned my counters etc. then I was ready to start the process. I used this drain product; it is a thick gel substance and doesn’t glug when pouring which is nice…. It pours nicely and you want to be sure you don’t pour straight down; when pouring hold bottle close to drain opening and sort of circle around while pouring to coat as much of the internal drain as possible as opposed to just pouring straight down (hope this makes sense!) and used the apples on the counter as well. The apples came in packs of two; I bought three packs and used two packs so four apples placed around areas I saw these nasty fruit flies. I saved a pack along with half of a bottle of the drain cleaner. Anyway, within three days the infestation was gone. I was SHOCKED at how effective this drain cleaner Tero apple combo was. I was so pleased with this purchase and I recommend anybody to buy this. Just make sure you clean your dishes and your sinks before using and I highly suggest getting counter traps shaped like the apples as well but please do not waste your money on the counter traps!!! Pay attention to the brand!!! Stay away from the RAID brand. I promise you; they are so useless I couldn’t believe it. Totally totally useless! I will buy another bottle of this gel drain cleaner/fruit fly killer because it really made such a difference. I will keep one on hand and hope I don’t ever experience this infestation again but if I do, I know I’ll have this product to get rid of these nasty fruit flies. They are disgusting and I have no idea where they come from; I am assuming the drain, but they are impossible to get rid of and the multiply like crazy. This drain cleaner/killer is a great product and so effective. Again, I highly suggest getting the counter apple traps to really tackle this problem… maybe the gel drain cleaner alone would be great but I had so many of these flies, I wanted them GONE. Using both took care of my issue and trust me; it was BAD!!!! I am thrilled with the results!

Normally, I love this brand but I'm really upset about this product that's supposed to take care of fruit flies and sewer flies. Instructions state that leaving it in the drain overnight is ideal so that's what I did. They also say that for best results, use it several times so I repeated the process the next night. Both times, I wiped away the excess with paper towel since rinsing them wasn't an option. So, not only has it eaten the finish off of my drain (or whatever the correct term is), this morning there were several sewer flies. I am not a happy girl. So, this is an update. I contacted the Green Gobbler customer service folks copying the review above and since they had no way for me to attach the pictures below, I described what had happened. I received back a boilerplate email describing that some drains are tougher to unclog than others. Really? I write about a product designed to rid your drains of fruit and sewer flies and they respond with info about unclogging my drains? I responded telling them that I was disappointed that they hadn't even taken the time to read my comment. Pretty poor and what's worse is that they did not respond to then at all to me. I'm just disgusted as I have used their drain cleaner several times and it's done a great job but this has soured me on the company.
