We ordered this queen size bunkie board set to use under a memory foam mattress. The queen size matched up perfectly to our mattress, it feels sturdy and durable, and it definitely adds support and prevents the mattress from sagging down between the frame's cross rails. However, the major issue we ran into is how slick the material is. It slides around too easily on our bed frame, and our mattress slides around on top of it. It’s advertised as having "Oxford fabric that keeps the mattress in place and prevents shifting," but that simply was not the case for us. Because everything was shifting so much, we actually had to take it off the bed until we can find a grippy pad or non-slip material to put underneath and on top of it. It would be a huge improvement if the manufacturer included Velcro straps, rubberized backing, or some built-in way to secure it to the frame. It’s a well made, supportive product, but its usability is really going to depend on the material of your mattress and bed frame unless you add your own non slip solution.

I wasn't expecting this to be as substantial as it is. It's noticeably heavier than it looks, which actually gave me more confidence in its ability to support the mattress. After using it, I'm convinced these are worth having on any bed with a foam mattress and slatted frame. Even on bed frames that are marketed as being compatible with foam mattresses, I've found that the mattress can still settle slightly between the slats over time. This bunkie board creates a much more uniform support surface, helping the mattress retain its shape and providing a more consistent, comfortable feel while sleeping. Before products like this became common, many people would cut a sheet of plywood to accomplish the same thing. This is a much cleaner solution. It offers the support you're looking for while remaining breathable, foldable, and much easier to move if you ever relocate or rearrange the room. It's not necessarily cheaper than DIY plywood, but it's definitely more convenient.
