  • What a stunningly beautiful book!
We started watching Percy Jackson on Disney plus so I bought this book to familiarize my 5.5 years old son with all the gods and stories. Wow I was blew away by how beautiful the book is! And easy enough for younger readers, can’t wait to get the other 2 in the same series

  • Beautiful written & elegantly illustrated book on Greek mythology
I’m glad I read the other reviews. I purchased Greek Myths: Meet the heroes, gods, and monsters of ancient Greece and so happy with this book. The illustrations by Katie Ponder are elegant and beautiful complimenting the charming and entrancing stories written by Jean Menzies. Each of the gods and goddesses have their own page with a description of their lineage, number of children, sacred symbols. I really appreciated the pronunciation guide at the back. There were a few myths I had not read before like “The Adventures of Atlanta” “Arachne” and “Dionysus and the Pirates”. Informative and beautiful illustrated chapter “About the Myths” describing how Greeks used myths in their everyday life: writing, art, storytelling. Extremely happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone looking to learn more about Greek mythology. ... show more

  • The Perfect Book for My Class
I have more than a handful of books on mythology and a few of those are specifically to use for my students in my classroom. The children I teach are between 3 and 9 and this book is perfect for that whole age range and even older. If you are looking for something with beautiful imagery and colors, with digestible sized stories on Greek Mythology this is definitely the book for you. As an adult I enjoy reading this book, and as for the littles, they absolutely loved it! Perfect for my Ancient Greece/Mythology Unit ... show more

  • Great for Kids
This is a great option for young people interested in Greek mythology. Tells the stories well without going into detail about some of the more "adult" themes. Art is very interesting.

  • Beautiful book
This is such a great book for young readers. It's a very nice introduction to the major heroes, gods, and monsters of ancient Greece. The information within is very well written and to the point but with that fun edge to it that promises to draw in even the pickiest of readers. The artwork is amazing. It has that ancient look to it but with vibrant colors that pull your eyes to the book and pages instantly. What I'm trying to say is that this book is excellent. If you are a fan of mythology yourself you may like to add it to your own collection for the pure enjoyment of it. If you have youngsters I definitely recommend this for them as an introduction or to further their interest. It's a great book in all regards. ... show more

  • Great introduction
This was just perfectly on the level for my 9 year old. It answered all his questions and we loved jumping around reading whatever section interested us that evening. There was no need to read it in order. Well written, well organized, has a helpful index and pronunciation guide.

  • Gorgeous Book and illustrations!
This is a very well-made book with incredible illustrations. The style of the illustrations really set the tone and mood for the Greek stories. It really feels like the illustrator Katie Ponder was hugely influenced by ancient Greek sculpture and art, so the stories alongside these drawings go so well together. This is an excellent gift for older children and teens. As an adult, I bought this for myself because this also serves as an excellent coffee table book. ... show more
