I use this product as an emergency water filtration system. I tried it on my own well water and have been using it for a month or two. It started getting very tough to push down after maybe 20-25 presses (24 oz. bottle) and after as many more, it takes at least a minute or more to press down. This is supposed to handle 300+ presses (around 65 gal. water), and even though the water still tastes amazing, this is tap water. Clear tap water. It shouldn't be this tough to press after so few presses. It's most frustrating. Other than that, this is a stellar product. Great concept and function, and I even bought the Ultralight bottle as well.......mostly because I ordered those filters instead of the Geopress ones, so why not? It's only money lol

When I first started researching for a water filter to use for a trip to multiple countries in southeast Asia, with widely varying levels of water quality, I assumed those "straws" would be more than adequate . After reading up on them, I realized that I needed more. The Grayl fit that bill...and did the job that would end with COVID-19 shutting things down a couple of weeks after that trip. Subsequently, on my return to normalcy, I'm much more aware of germ breeding grounds...specifically public water fountains at amusement parks. While a filter will easily do the job, with then additional knowledge of what a purifier can do with water in much worse condition, why should I not continue using a superior product? Yeah, though potentially overkill, it's going to cost more per use, but you only have your health, and those of your loved ones. Why compromise when you know you're safe to drink away, virtually anywhere, in good health? You pay for what you get. If this product is within your means, and meets your wants and needs, then pull the trigger and purchase it. You will not be disappointed in that Grayl.

Better to have the next in line ready to go. The GeoPress has become my carry everywhere water filter for speed and filtration coverage. This is my second back-up filter. I highly recommend this system.

If you want the best filtration in the easiest and most convenient system on the market, Grayl is it in my opinion. Once you find it difficult to press your Grayl (10 seconds or more) to filter water, you will soon need a new filter cartridge. I have gotten varied results with filter life with variable being the quality of water filtered. If you pre-filter your water with a millbank bag or strainer of cotton cloth, you will definitely extend the life of the filter cartridge. If you regularly filter turbid water with lots of silt and particulates, it with definitely shorten the life of the cartridge. I like to always keep one or more on hand at home for when they start getting hard to press.

Weve been using Grayl filter over 10yrs internationally and domestic travel the filter is super easy to change we always have one ready! It saves you tons if money buying water at $5 a bottle sometimes plus you dont have to worry about the plastic which always seems to get heated and is when the bad stucc leechesnout into the water the most! Even if we didnt travel we would have this as emergency back up! Yes, im legit no give aways just an honest customer!!
