This dress is beautiful!! Pictures can't do it justice. For an overweight woman in her 40's to feel like a princess all night, well worth the money spent. For $60 it's well worth it, even if I will only wear it once. It did run a little big, I ordered an 18W and could have gone with a 16W, but I appreciated that it didn't run small for once. I didn't have time to send it back and wait for another by the time I ordered it so I made it work with a pretty tank top underneath. Comfortable and I got a ton of compliments at the ballet we went to see. Wore a pair of Champaign colored strappy heels under, went perfectly. The color is more of a blush or light pink as depicted. Sequins all over, very sparkly. Perfect for any formal event. Try not to out shine the bride if you get this for a wedding. Okay plus sized ladies, but more importantly, PEAR shaped ladies! If I were rich, I would start a clothing line just for plus sized, pear shaped women. It is SO hard to find dresses that fit right. If they fit around my very large hips, I'm swimming in the top portion and vice versa. If the top fits, I can't even pull the bottom portion over my hips! Anyway, I am a youthful 63 year old. I wear a size 3X and read some reviews that cautioned to not buy a size up from your regular size so I didn't. I purchased a size 22 and was positive that it would not fit. I was very wrong. The top fit me like a dream, the waist fit perfectly, and the skirt portion had more than ample fabric that drapes well without looking bulky. My husband took a double take and loved it. I feel beautiful in this dress and have three weddings coming up so I will wear it to at least one, and keep it as a staple in my closet for special dress up times. Note that every review on this dress with photos depicted the lighter color sequins but I opted to get the skirt with the black sequins as I feel it matches the black top better. I feel I made the right choice for my style. It's very elegant and classy and sexy and as another reviewer mentioned, that front does not gape open and has the perfect amount of coverage with the right amount of cleavage. The 3/4 length sleeves cover my upper arms and make me feel more confident. Someone else commented on the dress feeling cheap and "swishing too loud" (were they in church?) but I disagree. It is well constructed and solid for the cost. I love this dress and I hope it's in stock for a while since I'm losing weight slowly and will eventually need a smaller size. FYI, I shopped Nordstrom and Macy's and found NOTHING. Came home depressed and had this dress in two days through Amazon. Can't beat that! I will post pics once I'm wearing it to go out! ... show more

I ordered 3 of these dresses. I am 5'2" and 210lbs, 40D. I wear between 16-18/XL. The dress is long and touched the floor on me and with a low heel hits just above the top of my big toe. Dress #1 was a size 16. I ordered a 16 based on reviews and it was a little lose fitting in the top. I initially noticed a perfume smell when I pulled it out of the bag, and I should have realized at that moment it was a used dress because it was sent in a plastic bag instead of the proper sealed bag that dress #2 and #3 came in. I didn't think much more about it as I planned to return it because I was going to get a smaller size. Dress#2 was ordered right after in a size 14 with plan to return the 16 if the fit was better. It was VERY snug so there was a significant size difference noted. Dress was still beautiful but it didn't fit. I noticed this one came in a different bag - the bag that the dress would normally come in, and had no odor. I then inspected dress #1 closely and noticed several stains throughout. At that point it was obvious that it was a used dress and I'm in the process of returning it. Dress#3 is the replacement for dress #1 again in size 16. The size is still a bit lose in the top but I will adjust with a padded bra. It seems like the sleeves are a little longer on this dress but not enough to bother me. This dress came in the proper bag but the bag was ripped all over. Fortunately dress appeared ok. I did notice a lot of threads on this dress that I will need to cut off and one area where the thread pulled and bunched that I was able to fix somewhat. Overall it is a stunning dress for the price and I am happy. I'm rating 4 stars because I was sent a used, stained dress, and overall the quality control is not great. However, for a beautiful dress under $60 I think this should be expected. ... show more

I spotted this dress as I searched for an outfit to wear for formal occasions. What caught my eye was the lovely lace over the beige underskirt and the empire waist cut. I'm only 5'2" in height and apple shaped, so most formal wear needs massive alterations to fit me. Not so with this wonderful dress! The length came down to my ankles giving me a full length without worry of tripping on my heels. The waist was a true empire style which fits my apple shape perfectly. The black upper part of the dress fit well except for the wrap area. It was loose on me due to my not being quite so busty. However, I wore a comfortable black sports bra under it which gave me the support and modesty I prefer and seamlessly worked with the upper black fabric of the dress. While the waist was not stretchy, I followed the size directions and ended up with a perfect fit. I sat, danced, and hung out at the party in total comfort while I received many compliments on my attire. I am giving serious consideration to purchasing a second dress although I only attend a few formal events each year. All three versions are beautiful and unique. If you are like me, short and apple shaped, I would recommend this dress to you. ... show more
