I used this on bicycling gear, after having it recommended by the manufacturer. It works well, but you really have to saturate the garment. It has to run off, and then you blot off the excess after a couple of minutes. Otherwise it isn't going to do the job. Particularly with soft-shell garments, this means you're going to be using a lot of it. Plan on one to two garments per bottle. ... show more

This didn't work well for me. I got it so that I could waterproof my hiking shoes. It didn't do a good job, though I probably should have used a different product. I was hiking in Ireland and it rained a lot the 2nd half of the hiking trip. Had to walk through mud, rain, streams.

I own ski clothing (jacket and pants) that needs the water repellent applied after 2-3 ski trips. This works well. I wish it could last longer than just 2-3 days. Don't forget to re-apply this to your ski clothing before putting your ski clothing into the dryer.
