  • I would personally say by far GTA San Andreas is #1 on my top 3 favorite game charts

I have been playing GTA since the first computer game version. I would personally say by far GTA San Andreas is #1 on my top 3 favorite game charts. This is the game that built the foundations for GTA V, GTA IV, red dead redemption, and other open world games. Yes this game was made back around 2004. It is indeed 12 years old. BUT with that in mind I must add that the graphics on the PS3 are way more better in detail and contrast/brightness compared to ps2, and ps4. Only one issue I had for 30 seconds was the controls, they weren't quite the same as ps2. Well indeed it is updated on a newer console it does use GTA V style controls. YES you can change it to original instead of standard, but some buttons aren't coded the same as ps2, but with that. The controls and actions remain the same, just different style of doing it. This game does have trophies, the first trophy you will get is the welcome to los santos one. I think.... I don't remember but yes it does have trophies. Is this game fun. Psf. This game isn't fun, it's a blast of awesomeness with a side of swift incredibulness. I would recommend this to anyone who plays open world games. The story behind this game is awesome I have restarted this game 25 times. Yes I actually did restart it that many times, that's just how epic the story mode is. Casinos are in here, clubs, pool, bars, wrestling gyms, boxing gyms, golf courses, girlfriends, and fast awesome cars only found on this game. So when someone asks you on GTA V about the old Hustler, Or elegy. You'll find out on this piece of work. Overall this game is a must have. Awesome. Full of action. And does have original packaging, and poster included. Got a question? Just ask. I love helping people out with questions, because yes even I have questions. I'll most likely be the first one to answer your questions since I intend to give informational helpful and exciting help! ... show more

  • Best PS2 GTA Game EVER!
Platform For Display: PS3 Digital Code Edition: Standard
I'm so happy I'm a forum member of Slickdeals because I got a email today about this being $3.99! I was about 13 years old when I bought my PS2 just to play GTA III. A kid down the street had it and I was still playing PS1 and N64, and when I went into his house and he showed me PS2 with GTA III, I was like OMG, I must HAVE THIS. Went home told Mom, took me a couple weeks but I finally got her to budge. GTA: III was released I believe in 2001, so for its time, it was very good. I then discovered Vice City being announced, and to this day, I still remember going on the official GTA website and seeing the flash animation for Vice City. Some of you may remember it. It was like a flash of a room, and you would see people walk past the window, and you could click on stuff inside the room like a radio and stuff. I preordered Vice City, and when it came, it was like a WHOLE NEW ADVENTURE for the GTA series. Vice City was the first GTA game to include boats, motorcycles, etc, and boy was Vice City fun. Soon after San Andreas came out which was a BIG BIG BIG BIG DEAL. San Andreas was the LARGEST OPEN WORLD GAME in the series being 5 times larger than Vice City and also brought a ton of features to the series. Like bicycles, jets, working out, eating, stuff to make it real more realistic than ever. Anyway, then it happened, and happened to THOUSANDS of people. The INFAMOUS ERROR! " Error reading the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas disc " This stopped THOUSANDS IF NOT MILLIONS of people from playing the game. To this day, I still can't find a real LEGIT fix to this issue. My disc was completely free of smudges or scratches, and ALL OTHER games worked just fine for hours on end. I can't truthfully say it was the disc or the optical reader. As both worked fine. It had something to do with the disc itself I believe. People think when you burn a CD, it burns into the disc itself but it doesn't. If you turn a CD upside down, you'll see the shininess right? That's actually the bottom of the label where data is written onto. If you take a knife and scratch the label, and turn it upside down, you'll see you just ripped some of that shininess away. Sure, you can scratch the plastic and then it can't read but that's because it can't see through the scratched plastic to read the paper. I'm thinking the PS2 laser started eating through the data paper on the disc due a issue when the games were mass produced and it eventually wore down the material on the disc, and the system just couldn't read it. Anyway, found this for $3.99 as a digital download for my PS3, and I snatched it. Now, I can finally finish playing without any kind of issues. I remember having like ONE MORE area to claim for my gang and I would of had all of them when this happened to me so it's time to finish what I started. ... show more

Got this because my old gen copy no longer works even after cleaning it several times. Update took hardly any time installing & played almost instantly right out of the box. The new start menu took some getting used to but now that I’m used to it I actually like it better than the old start menu. As others have mentioned in other reviews it does seem to have some audio issues like unbalanced levels of loud & soft sounds for example when I was flying a helicopter turning to the right made the sound of the blades spinning louder for some reason & some static crackling sounds I noticed when in CJs house on the 2nd floor & sometimes the talk shows on WCTR would suddenly replay the same sections of certain talk shows for example it would suddenly repeat that one sports talk show half way through instead of progressing further. Very annoying. Other than these audio issues it seems Ok for about an hour or so of playing. Was able to progress throug a couple of missions with no major issues so far. Just hope they fix these audio issues in an update someday. Nothing really wrong with gameplay & all original content (music weapons & vehicles) still seems to be there. The cheats seem to be the same ad the original release I just had to look them up to confirm this on YouTube but the cheats do still work but like most trophy oriented remasters the cheats always disable the trophies. I never really cared much for or saw much point in trophies as they don't give you anything in return anyway & don't really add any extra appeal to playing the game. Anyways this is a great staple in my GTA collection & a much needed replacement for my original copy. ... show more

One of the best or the best GTA till now. Regular detailed graphics by his age but play it in a PS3 with high speed and nice visual textures. It kicks you right in the best childhood!
