Ok, I have so much good to say about this thing, it's a bit ridiculous! I received my Grandpa's Weeder yesterday (one day earlier than expected😍, yet another reason for my 5 star review). I was so excited to use it, that I busted it out today and went to town. I "worked" in my yard for over 2.5 hours. I said "worked" because it hardly felt like the typical weeding work that I'm accustomed to. It was awesome to say the least. I'm sure the novelty will wear off some day, but there were so many audible "wow!", "oh man!", "holy cow!" etc.!! I just kept being amazed at the ease of which this tool makes removing weeds! Here's a little more detail: I primarily used the tool in my lawn areas--where I had hundreds (literally--hundreds) of dandelions. However, there were at least 20 or so weeds I removed from garden areas. I will say that it has rained here (Northern Utah) on and off over the past 3 days. I'm sure that helped the success of the tool. Did it remove all of the root of every weed? No, but I was in awe at how many weeds it got with a 3-9 inch root system. And of those that it didn't remove a good sized root, it still got a decent size. Did it leave a hole after removing the weed (like I had read in a few reviews)? Yep, but I figure those holes are great for aerating my lawn! Was it easy to use? YES! SO EASY!! I'm a 50 year old woman in decent physical shape and I worked for 2.5 hours in my yard today, removing weeds with this incredible tool. This was AFTER I returned home from playing 2 hours of pickleball (intermediate level--making it in and of itself a pretty decent workout). It was actually fun to use....and so SATISFYING! While using the tool, I had two neighbors come over and see it in action. They too were amazed. To one neighbor I admitted that it didn't get EVERY weed root system completely. And then I went on to show her and it went 4 for 4 weeds perfectly! We were so impressed. Can't say enough good about this tool. Very efficient, sturdy, high quality, etc. And I love that I'm supporting a small family business. Way to go guys! I wish I had discovered this tool about 20 years ago! I read the reviews and watched several posted videos before purchasing Grandpa's Weeder. I love the product. It is made of excellent quality, the handle, connections, and metal end. This product works as advertised. I was a bit skeptical, yet proceed with purchasing it for my 1/2 yard. I had been pulling up dandelions and a few other weeds by hand and was not getting the roots. Grandpa's Weeder gets the roots and saved me about half the time in getting the weeds up. Well worth the purchase and everyone that does yard work should have one on hand. One comment, as others have pointed out, is that once the weed is pulled up, there is no release of the weed from Grandpa's Weeder, so I would pull the weed off of the end of Grandpa's Weeder by hand and hold them until my hands were full at which time I would go drop them in the small bucket I had in the yard. One recommendation that I have is that when I first used Grandpa's Weeder, I was not 100% of the time getting the root, or even the dandelion or weed. As the instructions and video guides say, you have to center the end claws of Grandpa's Weeder exactly over the center of the weed/dandelion. The issue I was having was that I was not always finding the center of the weed because it is in the grass, comingled with the grass. HERE IS MY RECOMMENDATION that I finally found to be helpful. With my foot, I lightly rubbed my foot overtop the weed/dandelion to kinda fluff it up which then perked the week upright/vertical thereby clearly showing me where the center of the weed/dandelion is. ONCE I DID THAT each time, the then pulled up the weed/dandelion and their root on the first attempt 100% of the time. ... show more

Over the past 25 years or so, I've probably spent somewhere between $70,000 and $100,000 buying on Amazon (I definitely think Jeff Bezos owes me a nice, long ride and a dinner on his yacht!!) - but I have to say - this little gadget is by far and away the most useful and enjoyable item I've ever bought here!! Within five minutes, you will instinctively figure out how the thing works (it's a piece of very simple mechanical genius ((and I DEFINITELY MEAN "GENIUS" when I say that!!)) ) - and even though you may hate weeding - I'm fairly sure you'll find that this contraption actually makes the process of weeding your yard not only useful – but - GREAT AND ADDICTIVE FUN!! No more getting on your hands and knees to pull weeds - but instead - just place the prongs of the contraption over the center of the weed - push the little pedal down with your foot - and then lean the implement in the direction of the pedal - and out pops the weed!! It's frigging addictive!!! I also think you'll be pleasantly surprised to find that within fifteen to (a very fun) thirty minutes - you'll have a day's worth of weeds easily stacked up on your sidewalk - and then - you'll simply want to do some more!! It really is great fun!! Take this from a guy who really, really, REALLY hates gardening!!! A little hint- thus far, I've found that it helps to wet the ground a little before you start - and it's not a bad idea to have a hose with a (jet) sprayer attachment to occasionally wash off the dirt and weed debris that eventually accumulates on your “Grampa's Weeder”.
