This dress was perfect for Colonial Day at school. I wore it all day teaching fourth grade. The dress was well made and very comfortable. I appreciated the side zipper and the laces in the back, that made the dress easy to slip into. I’m 5’4, 130 lb. the size Small, fit perfectly. The fabric was pretty, the skirt was long and full. Worn with a petticoat, the look was elegant. I added lace to the sleeves to enhance the look.

Beautiful dress for DAR event. There is a side zipper which I didn't know about when I ordered or I may have ordered my usual size, instead of going up a size, but the lace up back allows for adjustments. The fabric is very nice and it appears to be well made for a costume. I look forward to wearing it.

The dress, cap, and shawl looked so nice! I got a lot of compliments. Good quality and a fairly authentic look, especially for the price. The shawl material is soft and the lace on the edge is a nice detail. The dress was lightweight without feeling cheap, though I would recommend wearing a second layer underneath. (I would also recommend wearing a time period appropriate corset under the dress for the right silhouette. It doesn’t need to be tight or uncomfortable, it just needs to give some support.) For sizing, I was between 2 sizes according to my measurements, so I erred on the side of too big. I think that worked well, though given the adjustability of the dress with the lacing, I might have been able to get away with the smaller size. I am taking off one star because the eyelets on the back of the dress started falling off and I had to sew them to keep them in place. Otherwise, the quality was good; I wore it for three days straight for an event and had no issues.

I needed a costume for Flag Day June 14 so I could portray a historical character, but she Ross. I found this costume and bought it. The fit was perfect with the exception of the length which I had to him up a few inches because I am so short. I also took the liberty of adding some trim to the neckline and sleeves just to embellish it a little bit. All in all the finished look was exactly what I was looking for and my client loved it! The fabric was a good quality and the dress is made well. There is a zipper on the side under the arm, making it easy to get in and out. It was very comfortable And not too heavy. I was really happy with this purchase.

The fabric of the dress and accesoried are 100% cotton. They even included the pin for the color. It is laced in the back with ties so can get a fitted look. There is also an invisible side zipper which I don't use, easily slips on and off. I bought as a costume, but it would be a lovely gift for a Menonite or Amish woman to wear all the time. The price is amazing for the quality of fabric and construction.

I ordered this for my church's "Old Timer's Day" service in October. It is a stunning dress - the colors are beautiful, the apron and hat are perfect, and there's a brooch that I didn't even realize came with it. I am having to return due to the sizing issue - it has a tie-in back, which I thought was going to be great. However, the WAIST has no give or stretch and I literally could not get the dress to pull down over my breasts. Even my husband tried to help me and we could not get it to go.

Great fit and quality for the price. As it is 100% cotton, it does require steaming/ironing. Highly recommend this for Daughters of the American Revolution events! Would love it even better if it also came in more colors that aren’t pastel. Then I’d buy a second one!

I volunteered to walk in a 4th of July parade as part of our DAR chapter so needed a period dress. Looking at the pattern for a "Colonial-style" dress, I noted that it would take eight yards of material, plus all my time to make the costume; thus, I went looking for a suitable dress and found this one on Amazon. I didn't have high expectations considering the price but, WOW, am I impressed. The dress is 100% cotton and it's a sturdy cotton. While the front bodice waist is sewn in to be 'stationary', the back has elastic at both the waist and all up and down the back where the ties are -- and the ties allow you to cinch it tighter if need be. Plus, while ironing it, I found a hidden side zipper! The shawl is double-weight so it lays nicely and the mop-cap is light enough so that it doesn't weigh down your hair. I am 5'3" tall, 145 lbs and normally a size 10/12 but I ordered a size 14 just to have enough room and I'm glad I did.
