This dress was perfect for Colonial Day at school. I wore it all day teaching fourth grade. The dress was well made and very comfortable. I appreciated the side zipper and the laces in the back, that made the dress easy to slip into. I’m 5’4, 130 lb. the size Small, fit perfectly. The fabric was pretty, the skirt was long and full. This is a great quality costume. The sizing is true for the chest and waist. I am 5'5" and ordered a size 22 and the length was just covering my feet. I can wear flat shoes and will not be dragging on the ground. The skirt is full and not see through. The only thing I did not like is the neck fits snug. Maybe this an authentic fit, not sure. I ordered this dress to use as a costume for a play I directed when I was in a pinch and needed a new costume in a hurry for one of my actors. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. It worked wonderfully for the play. It blended right in with the other more expensive custom made costumes and did not look cheap or out of place. My actor needed a size 6 but they were temporarily out of sock in the color that I wanted so I ordered the size 10. With the laces in the back it can cinch in a lot, but I still ended up taking it in a little more to make my actor feel more comfortable and confident. I also added lace trim to the sleeves and some yellow ribbon trim on the bodice just to make it look a little less "prairie" and more colonial. The cotton fabric made it so quick and easy to sew on these little extra details without any damage to the fabric so they will be easy to remove if I need the dress to look more plain for a future project. My only complaint (which is very minor) is that the pattern on the fabric is printed, not woven, which is usually a sign of cheaper fabric, so the inside of the dress is white. The only place where that is visible when wearing the dress is in the sleeve ruffles. It also wrinkles fairly easily. Overall, I was very happy with this purchase. I would have been hard pressed to make this dress for this price, and it was absolutely worth it for all the time I saved. The shawl and mob cap were also high-quality and they looked great! I purchased this dress to wear at DAR events. I ordered the shorter sleeve sleeve as it felt more colonial to me. The fabric pattern is so cute and I received so many compliments on it. The size was great. The only struggle that I had was that the upper sleeves was tight, but bearable. It fit wonderfully everywhere else. The elastic on the hat is very soft and easy to wear, not tight! The length was great. I have already washed everything. I just pu it in my washer on delicate. I hung everything up to dry. Once it was dry I tossed it on the tumble cycle in my dryer with a damp sock and no wrinkles or ironing. Love it! I will probably purchase another in an another pattern. Everyone else had on handmade dresses. One lady told me that just the material and things alone without the sewing was over $100 for her dress. I felt like mine held its own and was great! ... show more

I ordered this for my church's "Old Timer's Day" service in October. It is a stunning dress - the colors are beautiful, the apron and hat are perfect, and there's a brooch that I didn't even realize came with it. I am having to return due to the sizing issue - it has a tie-in back, which I thought was going to be great. However, the WAIST has no give or stretch and I literally could not get the dress to pull down over my breasts. Even my husband tried to help me and we could not get it to go. ... show more

I bought this for a Betsy Ross costume. It is perfect (I did add a white apron from Amazon). It is extremely well made. I am 5'4" and normally wear a size 10. I ordered the size 10 and it fits me perfectly. The length is also perfect. I am very pleased with the quality and price of this item.
