I have purchased several sets of these coins and received several sets as gifts. Usually it’s a great value and the coins really show a lot of detail on this batch only 4 of the 24 coins had detail. Most were so wore down once cleaned that you could barely make out one side of the coin. If, at all total disappointment, I would like to add on other sets, detail could be seen on both sides. I thought that these coins were awesome! 2,000 years of history is hard to find, but they are also affordable. They came in a little plastic bag... even dirty. I have spent a few weeks cleaning 4 of them, but they are great! I just wish that I could have found them myself.

Bought 2 sets as a project for the kids. These are what collector’s term as cull coins. Don’t expect much in terms of quality coins and you will not be disappointed. Watch a few videos on YouTube on cleaning old coins without damaging the patina and you’ll have a good rainy day educational activity.

    • Mostly already cleaned
These coins were definitely cherry picked. A quick rinse knocked off most of the dust and you could tell right away which coins still had images. A few smooth blanks that shown brightly were also included. Mostly all to damaged to be worth restoring.

    • Historic teaching for kids
These coins are fantastic. I'm currently having them sit in distilled water. In a few days, the kids will help me clean them. We will also discuss Roman history, culture etc. Just thinking of the ancient people that held these coins. Sm very satisfied with this purchase.
