I recently purchased the Gotrax ASTRO Electric Scooter with Seat for Adult Commuter to use to get around my large suburban home owner association neighborhood, quick trips to the local grocery store and to get my pool water tested, amongst other local errands. Foremost, the scooter's 350W motor provides a good amount of power, given I weigh about 200 lbs I was absolutely delighted my GPS consistently gives me speeds of 15.5 mph on flatter terrain and only slows ever so slightly to 14.3 mph on more hilly terrain . The acceleration of this scooter is extremely smooth and I have never felt like I am being lunged forward. The 15.5-mile range has been about spot on in my usage thus far. The first time I fully charged the battery I was able to get 15.1 mile range in a more hilly area of my neighborhood. The second time I was able to extract a 15.7 mile range in a very flat area of my neighborhood. I'm consistently finding the range to between 15.1 and 15.7 miles per charge and am using the scooter multiple times per day most days. The 14" pneumatic tires absorb most bumps and uneven surfaces, consistently providing me with a very smooth ride. The seat is such a nice touch as opposed to a stand up electric scooter and is extremely comfortable. I absolutely love being able to sit when I am traversing the greater end of the range of this scooter. The rear basket has been an amazing feature that I did not fully appreciate the importance of until I ran a quick errand to the local grocery for a spice I needed to finish making dinner. While at the grocery store the kids texted and asked for chips and granola bars. Without the rear basket it would have been interesting trying to get home holding bags. I added a couple bungee cords after that trip to the store to secure anything I might be transporting. In conclusion, I have to say this scooter is quite impressive. It has given me an easier way to traverse my large neighborhood. For instance, I used to drive the 2.5 miles to the neighborhood clubhouse daily to workout in the gym, but now hop on my GoTrax ASTRO electric scooter saving money in fuel and wear and tear on my vehicle. I did intensive research before I decided to buy this Gotrax ASTRO Electric Scooter, as I do not want to always run after my 4-year-old kid when she is riding the bike FAST! Of course, one of the major reasons I bought this one is the high rating it received. However, only by seeing the product itself do I realize what a correct decision I have made. Delivery and Packaging: The item was originally scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday. However, it arrived two days earlier on Monday! The product is well packaged with enough plastic foam to avoid damage during transport. Build Quality: This is where this product exceeds my expectations most! The scooter is heavy and feels very sturdy and textured when I took it out of the box. The frame was made of high-quality steel and the paint is smooth. It also has dual rear suspensions and dual drum brakes that make this scooter stand out! After I put the parts together (it is very easy to do so), the scooter looks sharp, modern, and high-class. The folding capability makes it smaller enough to be stored in the trunk of an SUV. I cannot wait to ride it! Riding Experience: No doubt it is really an enjoyable riding experience. The bike runs smoothly, and the handling is easy and straightforward. The large and well-cushioned saddle makes comfortable seating. It also has a strong front beam light and taillight to make it safe to operate at night. My kid was very curious about the scooter and wanted to ride with me by standing on the anti-slip deck. Two persons on the bike did not slow down its speed as I felt the power continuously output with no issue. Also to note is the battery life, after my 7-day ownership, the battery still has some juice left. I think I will do some local grocery shopping with this scooter for fun and eco-friendliness! Final thoughts: The price is not cheap although it was $20 off the list price when I bought it. However, with its top quality in mind, it deserves the price tag. Made in China may mean low quality for some consumers but this one blows this prejudice away. I only owned the scooter for 7 days, so the long-term reliability has not been tested.
