Stayed tough during high winds, covered me and my babies well from rain drops that were huge and protected us from the sun and heat while we waited in long lines. The cute pattern is on the inside. It’s black on the outside. I guess I didn’t realize that before I ordered it. It’s also pretty bulky.

This is a nice, small umbrella that opens to a decent size. It's easy to open and close with the push of a button. I just have to remember to hit the button to close it instead of pulling it closed myself, like I do with my other non-automatic umbrellas, so I don't break something in the mechanism. So far it's worked well for me and kept me dry. I ordered the "Blue Daisy" design which has a black exterior and then a bluish purple daisy inside that isn't visible on the outside. It's very colorful and cheerful to look at on dreary, rainy days. The exterior black is unique, though. It's not like other black umbrellas I've owned. The material seems a bit different. It's a little shinier and feels a little more rubbery than fabric, almost like a diving wet suit or rubber suit. ... show more

When open this umbrella is 36 inches across and 22 inches tall. Closed, the umbrella is about 9 inches tall and 8 inches in circumference. This umbrella opens with a simple push of the button and closes with the same simple push. The difficulty arises when you have to push the top back into the handle. Full closure takes quite a bit of effort. The interior image is very nice and the exterior shiny fabric provides a sturdy support for the umbrella. This is a nice umbrella. It worked fairly fine. It is small and sleek and easy to carry. It seems well made. But I think it is comparable or better than most of them. It looks good.
