Description

A parody of the children's classic and a hilarious gift for anyone that finds modern life funny and absurd. In a bright buzzing room, in the glow of the moon-and iPhones and Androids and Blackberries too-it is time to say goodnight... Modern life is abuzz. There are huge LCD WiFi HD TVs and Facebook requests and thumbs tapping texts and new viral clips of cats doing flips. Wouldn't it be nice to say goodnight to all that? Like the rest of us who cannot resist just a few more scrolls and clicks, you may find yourself ready for bed while still clinging to your electronics long after dark. This book, which is made of paper, is a reminder for the child in all of us to power down at the end of the day. This hilarious parody not only pokes loving fun at the bygone quiet of the original classic, but also at our modern plugged-in lives. It will make you laugh, and it will also help you put yourself and your machines to sleep. Don't worry, though. Your gadgets will be waiting for you, fully charged, in the morning. Read more

  • Fun book!
Very cute book!

  • Hilarious.
I first saw this book at the bookstore with my best friend. We laughed and walked by it but somehow ended up back in front of it again. We thought, "How could anything be better than the original?" Well this book is hilarious. Anybody with kids of this "generation" will completely relate to this book. However Goodnight iPad isn't trying to take the place of the original "Goodnight Moon." (Think Weird Al's parodies.) This is actually well written and a fun read with hilarious pictures. My friend, whose husband makes super computers (for real) & has 2 kids, couldn't believe how true this was. We both have 5 year old girls that can use an iPad better than us. Her 3 year old knows how to play Angry Birds and can get 3 stars on the entire first level. We both pride ourselves on our technical "toys" in our homes so this made us laugh even harder. It is just fun & made us laugh out loud in the quiet bookstore. Because this book is really dating itself, the book will be ancient in 10 years with all the references but for the here and now it is fun. I won't stop reading the original Goodnight Moon to my daughter, which is a regular in our book pile, but this is something fun to slip into the rotation of fun books. ... show more

  • Fantastic book for a modern generation!
I'm not a huge fan of all the technology plaguing this generation but let's face it, it's inevitable and it does make things a lot easier. It doesn't help my husband is a nerd to the core so we have a lot of technology in our home. My kids LOVE this book and so do I. It's a modern take on Good Night Moon in which granny bunny (whom I speculate to be the baby bunny from GNM) gets tired of all the technology and decides to shut 'er down. My little ones especially got a kick out of the "Angry Birds" reference and it's sure to get a chuckle out of anyone who flips through it. Modern wit, humor and a decent point made to anyone who has trouble pulling their face away from that screen. ... show more

  • Beautiful, but 2 pages came glued together!
Two pages of the book were partially glued together. I’m glad I didn’t send it directly to the person as a gift. This is such a funny book, so well done. The printing and binding are beautiful. I hope this is caught and resolved quickly, if it happened to a batch of books. We love it and are still planning to give some as gifts. ... show more

  • Wow!
I'm sorry, but I'm just gonna have to come right out and say it: This book is one of my very all-time favorites! I've been an avid reader for 61 years (having started reading everything in local libraries from the age of eight.) This author is extremely clever. She's also very humorous. I've bought two for my grandnieces and will stock up for Christmas presents for a whole bunch of other young relatives. The tragedy is, that my 11 and 12 year old grandnieces know how all the stuff in the book works! The Tech World left me behind in 2007 :( ... show more

  • So cute - especially if you like Goodnight, Moon
This book is so cute. When my daughter was little, we loved reading the book "Goodnight, Moon" and since she is a major Apple user, I thought this would be a delightful Christmas gift for her now that she is older. I was very pleased with the book - it looks much like the original but has the updated words and illustrations. ... show more

  • My son loves this book!
Our 2 year old son loves Goodnight Moon and wants it read to him every night before bed. He's heard it so many times that he knows almost the whole book by heart. But since we received this book, all he wants to read is Goodnight Ipad. He enjoys the pictures on the pages. On the page that actually says "Goodnight Ipad," one of the characters is saying "Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo." My son points to each letter and says, "N, O, O, O, O, O, O, O, O... Nooooooooooooooooooooo" all on his own. For my wife and me, its a book that we enjoy reading to him, as much as he enjoys hearing. It will be a constantly read book in our house for years to come, and for any grandchildren we might have in the future as well. ... show more

  • Hilarious take on a popular series - a cute coffee table book...
Most of us are familiar with the Goodnight Moon series of books. This one at first looked like part of that, but this has a twist :) It pokes fun at nowadays' electronic lifestyle. The kids in the book are playing with ipads and phones rather than toys, the ambient sounds are beeps and blips rather than what one might have heard even 10 years ago, and at the end of the evening, you gotta wrestle the gadgets away from your kids to get them to bed. It brings a wry smile to you if you're a parent or not. A quick 5 minute read, and priced below $10 most places. A great coffee table book! ... show more
