This replaced a venture 30 that I’ve had for years. I like the unit. It’s smaller than the 30. Only con is the 30 had adapter plugs and cord that plugged into the side ports. The 35 does not and already lost the cord that came with it.

I like this brand and have over 6 other Goal Zero products, but the Venture 35 goes dead sitting unused every 4-6 weeks. Just seems unusual for most any battery and makes me doubt it's performance in regular use as well. I bought this product a little more than a year ago.

1* for QC. How can do many of these be defective? Look through the reviews, it seems that it is very common for these battery banks to be defective. Luckily I bought this ahead of time and was able to get a replacement before leaving on my backpacking trip. I had to press hard and hold the cables into the first bank to get it to pass a charge to my devices, and the blue charrging indicator lights flashed constantly even when not in use. The 3* rating is for the functioning replacement. Why 3*? Advertising that this can charge a phone 3x is inaccurate. My phone has a 3100mAh battery and I was able to charge it 3x, but not from 0-100%. It was more like 30-90%, nowhere near 3x in reality. It also charges very slowly, like the slowest charge I've ever seen from any battery bank. Before writing this review I had planned to keep the battery bank, but now I'm reconsidering that choice. I like that it's supposedly waterproof, but I'm not sure if it's worth it. ... show more

This is one of the best investments I've ever made. I bought it for my boyfriend who works long days so he could charge his phone. We recently took it to the beach with us.
