Junebug the Fierce has clawed up and enjoyed every inch of this structure (except the hammock, for some reason) to the point I frequently have to sweep up bits of frayed rope, cardboard shreds, and bits of plush. Time to retire it— lasted around 3 years but I probably should have gotten rid of it sooner (lol) Most of the surfaces on this structure are pretty thinly covered with the plush— it’s not like a thick rug like some you see. Junebug appears not to care about this, for what it’s worth. I remember when I was looking at buying this some reviews said the perch was a bit fragile— I followed advice in one of those and haven’t had a problem. Just make sure you get the screws evenly attached (if I remember right). I’d say the materials are a bit cheap, but for a cat that likes a high perch (find me one who doesn’t) it’s a great deal. ... show more

We have had this cat tree for a little over a year. With two cats using it heavily to play and lounge on, it went through a lot of stress. The fabric and rope on the posts lasted about 9 months before needing replacement but that comes with heavy use and was expected. Our cat's still love it regardless! Our biggest complaint is that the top level began to lean to the side after about a month. Our cats (both 11lbs) laid on it frequently and it would lean to whichever side they had the most weight. We tried tightening every bolt and screw we could but the problem persisted. Eventually we just gave up and decided that's how it would be. A week ago, the top layer (post, platform, and tube) completely fell off as our cat was on it. The cat is okay, though a little shaken. It seems like the post is made mostly of a cardboard material and only held on to a plastic base by 10 small staples. We ended up just taking the post and base off altogether and using a bolt from the top platform to replace the plastic base that remained from the incident. Our cats still love laying on the remaining cat tree, even if it's a little shorter. The rest of the tree has remained structurally sound. Overall, it was a good purchase! this cat tower is a really good option if you have a young, and or wild cat in your home. we have one kitten who enjoys almost everything about the tower, and one older heavier cat who has only reached the second level of the 4 level cat tower. a con would be the hammock they knocked off within a day, and they never use the little cubby. pro is the haven’t clawed our furniture since having the tower and we love that! ... show more

I purchased this cat tree for my kitten, and overall, I'm satisfied with it. Here are my thoughts: Pros: - The tree is compact and small, which is perfect for my 2 lb kitten. She can easily jump and pounce on it. - The instructions are clear enough, and the tree is reasonably well-made. Cons: - The tree is smaller than expected. It may not be suitable for larger cats. For instance, the cylinder is only held to the top shelf by a single screw, which may not be sturdy enough for heavier cats. - The second-shelf condo likely would be comfortable for a 6 lb cat but too small for a 16 lb cat. Overall, I think this cat tree is a good starter tree for kittens or smaller cats. However, if you have a larger cat, you may want to consider a sturdier option. This is about the width of a single window and fits perfectly. It is very sturdy and is the prefect color. It seems to be better quality than the Wal-mart cat trees. I just couldn't vacuum those off as easily, better carpet I guess, it is just way easy to clean. My cats love the little hammock areas. ... show more

My cat doesn't know to climb through the hole in the tree. I had to put a bench next to the tree for her to jump up. I wish the first platform had ledge longer that what it is. It took her awhile to get used to it. So far she doesn't use any of the bells and whistles on this one. I keep watching for her to adjust to the new-ness of the tree. ... show more
