This is actually a decent meter. Not perfect but legitimately NONE OF THEM ARE! I check my daughter’s BG with up to 6 meters sometimes and this one is in, what I assume is, range about 80%-85% of the time. That is with a deviance (is that the word? Words are hard lol) of about 20 points. Strips are good as well. Haven’t had many error reads with them. Very happy overall. Obviously inexpensive as well.

Gluco-Care Glucose Monitor Kit - Sleek White Design, Clear Display, Auto Calibration, Glucometer Kit with Strips and Lancets, 5 Sec Results, 500 Memory, Travel Case, 1 Lancing Device, Convenient Blood Sugar Testing for Diabetes This is actually the 4th glucose monitor kit I've tried and reviewed. I hate all the tiny and confusing instructions that come with all of them. There really needs to be one large 'paper' (laminated) that easily outlines the steps. With the first one I tried, I was so confused as I'd never done it before. I think I went through 10 lancets before I figured it out. LOL, which reminds me, although most have different numbered settings pertaining to how 'deep' the poke, I have yet to find a kit that really tells you which is the deepest and which is the lightest, so it's all a guess. That being said, I found this one to be the easiest to set up the date and time, and also the quickest read. It also seems pretty spot on. I still do not understand all of the other settings, nor am I very interested in those, as I just want a general and quick reading. I am saddened at the lack of lancets and test strips that come with this kit; it is by far the one out of the four I've tried with the least amount of supplies. The carry case is very nice, and I'm happy it comes with batteries, although I'm not sure how long they'll last as they are generic. Although the value of this kit is awesome and this one is my number one choice, I'm dismayed that I'll now have to purchase the supplies separately. I see nowhere on this page what to get or where. I'm going to have to go search through all those tiny instructions to try to figure it out.

My doctor receommened I test my blood sugar level to rule out a possible condition. It was highly unlikely and the cost of a monitor he had with deductibles and paper work to fill out was expensive and a hassle. He said just start out with one of these units and get some readings and come back in. I had never used one of these units before. The package came with everything needed but I also watched a few videos online because I was nervous. The batteries were in the package and the unit set up easily and turned on. I admit I was nervous to poke my finger the first time but it didn't hurt much at all, and it was just a quick sting. I waited for the device to give me a number and the number came back pretty fast. I have never used one of these before, but I was happy at the speed in which I got my answer. The number was easy to see in the device and put it in my phone as well to keep track. I brought the device and readings to my next appointment and the information was very helpful. It saved me money, time and gave me piece of mind. My reading were pretty accurate to the one the doctor go in his offce. The package only came with enough needles and strips for 10 tests, so if you needed to use this regularly, you would need refills pretty fast. I just needed this for a short time but will likely get some refills to have just in case. You never know when you need a reading, we have several diabetics in the family. I appreciate any home testing devices that are accurate , because these save money and the time of a visit to the doctor.

Don’t waste your money! This does not work.. Everytime I use it says an error occurred.. I just stopped because it came up with a reading once out of 18 times?
