  • Great flute for beginners!
Color: Niclel Silver
I’m very impressed with this flute for the price. It looks beautiful, feels well made, and comes with a nice carrying case and useful accessories. The keys work smoothly, and the included cleaning cloth, gloves, tuning rod, and grease are very convenient. Great starter flute for anyone learning or getting back into playing. My daughter very happy. ... show more

  • Incomprehensible how such an inexpensive instrument could be soooo good!
My mind is blown. I've played flute practically my whole life. I wanted a practice instrument that I could leave at my city condo so I didn't have to keep carrying my Yamaha with me. I saw this and couldn't believe the price. But I really don't have hundreds to spend on another instrument that will just be used in my practice room. I thought the colors would just be cool. When I received it and took the case out of the box, I looked at the cheap, soft-sided case and, well, I wasn't expecting much. Well I was in for a shock. I put it together and just stared at it. The metallic blue body and brightly polished gold-colored keys were dazzling. Very cool indeed. Now for the real test. I put it to my lips and ran two octaves of scales up and down a few times. Wow. Crystal clear, smooth tone, excellent, effortless vibrato. The pads all seal tightly with the lightest of touch. The keys all work flawlessly. I expected my finger's muscle memory to have a problem with the return spring tension. Not so. Closing my eyes, I can't tell the difference between this little mind-blower and $3000 Yamaha. I played a little Irish ditty. I played a little Bach, a little jazz and a little Jethro Tull. I certainly found a good practice instrument! If you have a good ear, especially that of an experienced flutist, the difference in sound between a really fine instrument and this is very distinguishable. Bottom line... Need a really decent, inexpensive practice instrument? Look no further. Have a child interested in learning the flute? Here you go! For incredibly minimal investment, you could start your child down a path that can provide a lifetime of enrichment. Or, did you play flute in high school or college and just want to see if you have any of that talent and skill left? Here you go! Get one and some music and go play in the basement. You'll be surprised how wonderful it feels to have one of these lovely instruments in your hands and how genuinely fine the sound is. ... show more

  • Pretty color
Color: White/Gold
Worth what you pay. The flute is cute. Sometimes the sound or tune seems off but could be user error considering we are new

  • Even better than I hoped!
Color: Black/Gold
If you’re a casual, non-professional flutist or just starting out, look no further!! The sound is great, the look is fantastic, and it even comes in a fairly sturdy case! The black and gold is more stunning than I expected, and it plays like any other flute I’ve played! It comes with a cloth for cleaning the outside, I only wish it came with a stick for cleaning the inside after playing. ... show more

  • I didn't want to spend too much simply because I wasn't sure if I'd remember how to play or if I'd still get enjoyment out of it
Color: Sea Blue
I used to play the flute for about 6+ years when I was younger (about 15 years ago). I unfortunately didn't have my old flute anymore and have been wanting to get one for a while. I didn't want to spend too much simply because I wasn't sure if I'd remember how to play or if I'd still get enjoyment out of it. With that said, I found this flute for such a fantastic price and just HAD to get it. I am giving this 5 stars because it was exactly what I thought it'd be. I picked it right up and realized I still remember how to play! This flute is perfect for anyone in a similar situation or for someone who just wants to dabble with it to see if they like the instrument before purchasing a better quality (and much more expensive) one. I absolutely don't recommend this for people who are learning to play in a band/performance setting (like school children or if you're taking lessons, etc). The quality is not great and will discourage anyone with a real passion for learning how to play. The pads are somewhat sticky, and the head (the part you blow into) does not create a good sound. It's actually a little difficult and frustrating because you have to hit the air jussttt right in order to make a sound (whereas in a better quality flute, it's quite easy to make a beautiful sound and you're able to learn different breathing/mouth techniques as you get better). The package came with gloves.. Which seemed a little silly and extraneous to me but I appreciated their desire to give the customer a bit extra. It also came with lubricant which no flute should ever use or need it. The case is nice and sturdy and even came with a longer attachable carrying strap. It of course also included a cleaning rod and cloth although I think the cloth should've been about half the size for ease of use. The flute itself is not great quality.. But again, I didn't expect it to be. The price is absolutely phenomenal. And above all, it works. I don't personally like colored flutes lol but I bought the blue one because of the cheaper price tag. Overall I'm very satisfied! ... show more

  • A worth story of excellence for Glory instruments!!!
Color: Niclel Silver
I bought this not long ago. And just before buying it I had purchased a Mandini key C Piccolo. I had a lot of trouble getting clear tone to come from the piccolo. I thought maybe it was me. But I had absolutely no problem at all with this flute. Just to be sure, I took both this flute and my Mandini piccolo to a repair store to have them looked at. The man I spoke to looked at the piccolo and said it was awfully made. No rolled edges on the key holes, the keys were all Miss aligned, and the pads in the keys were all crocked. Just so you know that's really bad, and rolled key holes help greatly to protect the key pades not only from wear & tear, but it extends the life of the pads and protects the pads from getting cut and damaged from the tops of the key holes. So this kind gentleman then looked at this flute. And in amazement said it was perfect. Best he had ever seen for this price!!! So, I returned the Mandini piccolo, letting them know how poorly made it was, and I listed all that the repair man told me about it, and promptly requested a total refund and sent it back to them, as I was told it would likely cost way more to fix it that I originally paid for it, IF, it was fixable at all. Which he said he didn't think it was. So, Glory, my kudos to you immensely for awesome craftsmanship!!! I put all this here, not only to brag about how awesomely made this flue is, but also to help would-be new buyers to know a few things when it comes to buying a good flute or piccolo. Just yesterday I purchased my new piccolo, and this time I took my business here to Glory! It is due to arrive tomorrow and I am very excited, because I already know that Glory does an excellent jobe when crafting these ever so beautiful instruments!!! THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH GLORY!!! ... show more

  • update: DON'T BUY!!
Color: Niclel Silver
Update: This flute is garbage. I will not produce any notes other than a c/b, and I can't even play it at this point, and I don't know how it deteriorated so much so fast (bought in Nov). They are refusing to repair/replace because it's been over 30 days, but honestly..a replacement is not asking much if you are selling a defective product that is supposed to last years. It's not been abused or misused, it's clean, and nothing is broken or missing. I'm not sure what is happening. My niece loved it when she first got it in the mail, and she was just learning-literally she had never played a note in her life- and as soon as she got past learning her c's and b's she started to struggle-because this flute is garbage. Her instructor thought it was just "unforgiving" so we assumed practice, practice, practice, but no one can get it to work at this point and it's too late to return. It will also cost more than I paid to get it repaired. It seems that this seller has a large quantity of defects among all the good ones, but if you DO buy one, please take it to a repairman immediately for inspection. Just wow. I was really concerned about this after reading the reviews, but I had to wonder if they were purchasing from non-amazon, third party sellers. I asked a few people what they thought of their flutes, and took a chance. It's absolutely wonderful for a beginner. It was brand-spanking new, shiny, came with the lubricant, gloves, nice case, cleaning/tuning rod, and a cloth. The case is lightweight and sturdy at the same time, comfortably to wear with a shoulder strap or carry with the handles. Background: I've played flute for 20+ years, but my flute was too difficult for my 10 year old niece to learn on. Local music stores wanted an arm and a leg for rentals, and I didn't want to invest $100s of dollars on an instrument for a kid who might not stick with it (she mentioned drums at some point..lol) . She tried this flute right out of the box and loved it. She was able to produce basic tones and a few notes without struggling and mentioned how light it was to hold (and of course how shiny it was compared to my ancient one..lol). I am really impressed with this flute. ... show more

  • Decent
Color: Niclel Silver
The head joint is very loose, it just slides right off. Other than that, as a beginner, I am struggling but the sound is not bad and it was easy to put together and to get a sound out of. It comes with a cloth to clean it, and I a stick you can thread the cloth through to clean the inside. Along with gloves. ... show more
