I have bought two flutes so far and they work wonderful! I also have a flute I have used years ago and my colored flutes work just as good! I ordered mine sea blue. I own other flutes but wanted to check out value for the money and I’m nicely surprised. Sea blue looks gorgeous and plays well. I had no problems when package arrived. Opened and startEd to play and my sound was getting better and better that what usually happens during practice session. So if you order it just let it play and if you wanna judge it then do it on the end of the session. Def recommend for a beginner . Children love colors so the best to order for them the color they like and that can inspire them to play and practice. When I was learning the flute I noticed that some fingerings are very tough on the beginning and flute can be accidentally dropped. So better to drop 80 dollar flute than 1000+ dollar flute. Of course better not to drop it at all but sometimes that may happen. Just saying. Love the small screwdriver included and extras. I recommend to put a bit of grease which is included especially on sliding foot spot you will be glad you did when disassembling it on the end of session.The head joint fits lighter on mine than foot so pay attention to that when assembling first time. On the end if you play flute with B foot using more advanced fingerings by playing C foot flute you can revisit fingerings you stopped using and this can even help with the technique. Love it! As a beginning flute player, I know this is great quality and very playable. I am a beginner and don't really know how it's supposed to sound--I think it's sounding great. Over all great quality (again) and I love love love it. I would definitely recommend this for any beginner. I would not recommend this for a school band because it is not allowed. A low quality flute. Did everything I can to properly maintain it and keep it clean but it would jam and was hard to remove the pieces from each other. I also had an issue playing specific notes because of how tight it would be assembled and wouldn’t loosen. Currently, cannot play the D note. Other than that, it looks cute. Maybe a super new beginner who is interested in seeing if they’re interested in playing would enjoy it, but definitely not for someone who’s in it for the long term or for school or professionally. It’s unfortunate because it is super affordable compared to other brands, but the inability to function just isn’t worth it. ... show more

We don't have any knowledge about flutes. So we can't exactly comment on sound quality. But it's my son's favorite color, and he was so excited to get it. He's a beginner, and we wanted something special but not super expensive. It's just want we expected. No chipping as of yet, but it's only been 3 weeks. The only downside really has been that the head joint is super loose and kept moving while playing. We had to put a piece of tape on the head joint to make it fit correctly.
