Description

How to distinguish AC fired or DC fired CDI box 1. In the GY6 6-plug set-up, you have AC if you have 3-wires going into the 4-plug side and you have 2-wires going into the 2-plug side. On the other hand, you have DC if you have the larger CDI box, 3 or 4 wires going into the 4-plug side and only 1 wire going into the 2-plug side 2. In general, the DC CDI's tend to be larger in size than the AC ones. For example ,the common AC fired CDI box is length 66 x width 38 x height 23 mm or length 58 x width 33 x height 23 mm ,but common DC fired CDI box is larger than AC fired cdi box in size ,such as length 75 x width 42 x height 23 mm or length 96 x width 55 x height 24 mm .Certainly this size is only for your common original CDI Box reference, don't include the racing cdi box size ,please note. 3. Another test is if the headlights turn on without the engine running, (with just the key on), it is a DC system. In the AC system the headlight requires the engine to be running. Another indication is, if the engine will only run with a battery it is DC. If it will run without a battery, it is a AC system.

  • Very good and cheap
I have been running the orange type cdi in my QMB 139 scoots for years and never had one go bad yet. I thought I would try one of these. It did prove a slight gain in top speed, about 1 mph, but seems to pull the hills at a slightly higher rpm. So there is a slight gain to be had even over the orange cdi. I am still running the Glixal cdi. ... show more

  • Sometimes you'll get a bad unit. Working on Brozz250
My example works well! It's hard to say alone how much the CDI has improved performance due to a bunch of supporting mods done at the same time. Remember what you're buying. Its dirt cheap china stuff. I got the blue racing CDI that is popular too and it worked twice and terribly at that. Hucked that in the trash and tried this one. I did notice an extra 1,000 RPM from the engine but that may be due to the PE30 carburetor, 118 jetting and 292 cam installed at the same time, hard to say. Go for it! ... show more

  • DO NOT RECOMMEND | CDI only worked once!
I bought this Glixal CDI as my stock CDI died, and the aftermarket CDI I bought to replace it doesn't work correctly. Install process was about as easy as any other CDI, and the 50CC scooter I bought this for ripped to life! I took it for a test drive and it worked fantastic! The other aftermarket CDI would cause my scooter to try to stall out of nowhere at random, and no such issues (or ANY issues) with this Glixal CDI on it's maiden test voyage to the grocery store. After getting home I turned it off as usual and went on with my day. However, the very next day is where problems started. I pulled the scooter out to ride it to work as per usual, and it just wouldn't start. On occasion I'd experience small backfires, but it no matter how many times I cranked, it just wouldn't start. I put in the old aftermarket CDI to test if there was something actually wrong with the scooter, and it came back to life. I tried a few times to get the Glixal CDI to work again and it just won't. I then asked in the QnA section (because I hate having to leave wordy reviews like this, and there's nothing that could have possibly caused this Glixal CDI to drop dead), and I got no response from the seller, and another that was just questions about my scooter's config which I wasn't able to reply to because Amazon QnA doesn't allow replies to answers for whatever reason. The scooter I have is a 50CC, it calls for an AC CDI with a 6-pin rounded connector (which is exactly what this Glixal CDI is). Overall I'm not very satisfied with this product or Glixal customer support, I've since returned the ignition and would advise anyone looking at this Glixal CDI to consider another product. ... show more

  • Great CDI
I installed this CDI in my 49cc moped and Wow! Immediate 5 mph increase, flat ground, down hill, even up hill, more power and more speed. This is the easiest upgrade to install and get results.

  • Make sure your bike is A/C for this cdi, you will need to richen carb jets.
Installed on 2014 ssr125 pitbike. I picked this cdi unit after hours of reading reviews and scouring the internet for a quality product. Not only is this one of the lowest priced options, it has some of the highest reviews of all of the Chinese cdi units. My bike was already in perfect running order before installing the Glixal cdi unit, after installing the glixal unit the bike is very snappy, even at idle it sounds vicious compared to old cdi. When I took it for a test ride I got a nice effortless surprise takeoff wheelie, I was actually surprised because I eased off the clutch mildly not trying to wheelie at all. I'm definitely getting quicker and higher revs now. I've had to richen up my fuel mixture quite a bit to compensate for the fuel demand at high rpm and it seems the richer I make it the higher it revs. BEST $8 EVER SPENT. ... show more
