  • Awesome shoes - with or without clips !!
These shoes are awesome ! I am NOT an avid biker, however I played one this past week (Ragbrai in Iowa). 135 miles in two days. All I have is flat pedals on a Trek 7.3. I was having trouble with my foot instep cramping with my tennis shoes. These are much stiffer and solved the problem. I am a mens 8.5 D / wide. I bought size 43. They are a little long and a little narrow for my wide feet but as stated, they did the trick. Easy to walk on - relative to biking shoes and comfy. I've read about a million reviews and I'm here to say - for flat pedals (no clips) bike shoes are WAY worth it. OBTW - these are built for clips, just not mandatory. And to all the bike geeks out there - maybe clips next year. Small steps :) ... show more

  • Whew! Relived to Find that the Size 15 (EUR 50) Shoes Fit Nicely. So Far, So Good!
I waited 24 hours after the shoes had been delivered to try them on, knowing that I would be disappointed. Since many had said that these shoes run small, I figured that they were not going to fit my size 15 feet--But they do! In walking around the carpeted house, the shoes feel fine--a generous toe box and a healthy amount of width. I have skinny feet, so I am not a good reference in regard to the width, but I would say that the shoes are a good C or D width. I am going to use the shoes with "old school" platform pedals and toe-clips, and don't care about the cleat fittings. The opening on the bottom of the shoes is covered by a rubber piece that fits snugly. The material that the shoes are made from is a bit odd--kind of a heavy duty felt, rather than leather or vinyl. The top of the shoe is vented with a sheer material, which should help in hot weather. I will post an update once I have used the shoes. If you are wondering why I bothered to buy these shoes to use with toe-clips, it is because of the stiff bottoms, which hopefully will be more efficient than a flexible rubber sole. Sadly, the price of these shoes increased by $20 just before I bought them. ... show more

  • Too small
Very well made, nice & stiff (perfect for biking) a little heavy but have a great Vibram sole. Unfortunately, they are one shoe size too small. I ordered a US men's size 15 (EU 50) and they were short on me even though I normally wear a US size 14. But since they're being used mostly for bike riding rather than walking about, I decided to keep them. ... show more

  • Good alternative.
This is my second pair of Rumbles. They are handsome shoes that can visually pass as everyday sneakers, and are less expensive than many of the ugly (err, "cyclist chic"?) alternatives to boot. The durability and build quality are good. The upper is quite stiff at first, but loosens slightly as it breaks in. The sole has only minimal flex, as you would expect, but they are still walkable. Your cleats will not touch a flat surface when walking, but barely so. I would recommend using caution on really scratch-sensitive floors. ... show more

  • Fit and Feel Great
Size: 13 Color: Ox Blood (2021)
I am happy with these. I had an old pair that last me 15 years. I was worried about buying a higher end product and not getting as good of a value, but I am happy with these. The size 13 fit as expected. Athletic fit around the sides and heal, but still comfortable. I feel like the bottom is structural like most shoes for SPD, but still comfortable to walk in. I have not walked a lot... like I have not gone for a walk, but getting bikes ready and driving to trail make me feel like these are much easier to walk in than my old cleats. Firm fit with plenty of toe clearance. ... show more

  • I wear a 15/16 and the 15 fits great!
This is my first pair of biking shoes and I am very happy. Even though I’m 71 I just started riding “seriously” 7 months ago and thought I’d get some shoes that would clip on. These shoes are great and the 15 fits me perfectly. Most of the time a 15 is good, but sometimes I need a 16. So I’d say these shoes are true to size. The clip on attachments that came with my Shimano Pedals work great with theses shoes. They are very easy to walk in too. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Super hard insole
I bought this shoe thinking that it would feel like a normal walking shoe, but a little more stiff, and with cleats. But what I got was a shoe with an insole so hard, that it feels like you're standing on molded plastic. And, at least in my case, it doesn't even feel like it was molded to support a foot. The heel is completely flat instead of being concave to support your heel, like a normal shoe. There is no arch support at all. The front of the insole is higher on the sides and lower in the middle so your entire foot will be uncomfortable in some way. If I were to stand in these for more than 5 to 10 minutes, I would have to take them off. I just don't understand how they could have designed a whole shoe perfectly, but completely dismissed ergonomics for the part of the shoe that you actually stand on. That being said, as a riding shoe, they're not all that bad. If you put them on just before you ride, and take them off just after, the experience is tolerable. The rest of the shoe, besides the insole, works well. It looks like a normal shoe to anyone who doesn't know better. ... show more

  • Great comfortable shoes for riding and walking
These shoes are a compromise between a mountain bike shoe and a casual shoe and lean a bit more towards being a casual shoe. For me they are perfect because they look like normal shoes. They are comfortable for walking and the sole is stiff enough for casual riding. The sole is vibram so it has incredible grip on rocks. Vibram is used on better hiking shoes. On a recent vacation ride on the coast, I got off my bike to scramble up some rocks and was just amazed by the grip. A negative is that my SPD cleat clicks on the ground when I walk outside on concrete. Inside they seem more normal. Be careful with euro sizing and they do run narrow. ... show more
