I wear between a large and XL and the XL fits me perfectly. Roomy enough for an undershirt, shirt and tie, but not loose or saggy. The wool blend front is well woven and sturdy, the collar reaches to the shoulder as is tradition, not before as some waistcoats I've purchased have the unfortunate habit if doing. Yes, all the pockets are real (in order to maintain the shape of the garment, higher quality waistcoats and jackets have the pockets loosely sew shut. One snip of a single thread will open them up. Don't be swayed by the ESO reviews of the lounge pants crowd.) Satin back with double synch ribbon adjustment and an athletic fit (even for us barrel chested fellows who may not have that v-taper shap. Fireplug is still A shap, right?) Of the many waistcoats I've purchased from Amazon, this is by far and away the highest quality, best looking of the lot. Ecen my watch chain is happy!

I was skeptical of the quality based on the price paid, but I am very impressed with the look, fit and craftsmanship. Unlike the majority of men's garments, this vest will actually fit someone who is not a toothpick. The photos do not do it justice. The color and pattern are very nice and I consider it worthy of the tag... formal. One thing to note is the vest is pretty long and in my case completely covers the waistline of my trousers and belt when standing. This is not a bad thing, just something to be aware of. All-in-all, a great value.

This is a great looking, good fitting, excellent quality waistcoat. However, the buckle in the back did fall off someplace and was lost. No big deal to me because I just tied the cords into a knot since I wear a coat much of the time anyway. I just purchased two more of different colors now that winter is coming. These are a bit warm for the summer being wool and all. I do wish a non-"slim fit" version was available, but the large fits well enough.

As with any suit jacket, the pockets are sewn shut. Easy to cut or break. I've gotten so many compliments on it. Waistcoats like this are great to conceal your gut, if you're an extra large man. I'm buying exclusively from Gioberti from now on.

Tweed is wool. Polyester is not. Having said that, I still ordered the vest expecting to return it. The quality is OK, and the fit is pretty good. I have 5 wool vests from 3 respectable chains, and none of them fits me. This one is the first that I can close and is not loose on me. If they made actual tweed or at least 50% wool blend, I would be all over Gioberti. I decided to keep it and ordered the same pattern in brown (which I really wanted) directly from the manufacturer because Amazon did not have XL, and it was quite different. It came in a nice branded pouch instead of a generic plastic bag from Amazon, had an extra button, and the fabric was much better - soft and woolly while the grey one I got from Amazon had a noticeable polyester feel. So , I ended up returning the grey one and keeping the brown. Was it just different polyester in the same pattern, or they use worse quality materials for Amazon, I don't know.

I love old western fashion and this waistcoat was perfect for me. The fit is excellent and it looks great. I would recommend this waistcoat to anyone whether they are dressing for a formal event, reenacting or simply going to town. I suppose I should mention that I am 5'8" and 230lds with a dad body and I purchased the XL. Hope this assists anyone who is thinking of ordering.

I have purchased two of them and I'm amazed at their durability -- except I've had to tighten up a couple of buttons before they fell off. The buckle on the straps on the back fall off, which of course you don't notice, because it is behind you. Make sure the buckle stays secure. I would recommend this vest to anyone. In fact, I will not hesitate to purchase this product again.
