Good size overall. Only negative is that it needs something firm to keep the bottom flat (so it stays open for more capacity). I kept the 2 cardboard inserts it came with and used one immediately to keep the bottom open. When I emptied it, that went in with the trash too--oops. This is no different than putting a small garbage can in your car. I thought the hooks to put the bag in it would be easier to deal with but the bag falls in. Also, the attachment has to be just right in your center console or it won't shut.

I bought this one to replace a collapsable trashcan I kept in the back seat for my 5yo. This one was a major upgrade over the old one. The 2 gallon size fits a plastic shopping bag as a trash bag, and there are hooks to help hold it in place. The strap secures it in place neatly behind my center console of my small SUV, so both my kid and I can easily reach it. When I stop for gas, it takes so much less time to pick up the trash and dispose of it because the liner is easy to remove, and it fits all of the trash that accumulates over the course of a week. I did take someone else's suggestion to put a cardboard box in the bottom to help keep it propped open. I also keep a stash of extra bags in the bottom to make it easy to add a new liner when I remove the old one. I'll never go back to the round pop-up style that we had before. ... show more
