I like that Venus razors provide sturdy reusable handles which are better for the environment than disposable ones. I find the 5 blade heads give a very smooth leg shave and also they tend to last a lot longer before needing replacement. That makes them worth the price. With this replacement pack I can probably go an entire year before repurchasing. I wish they were more eco friendly in their packaging, though-- a lot of plastic and tape which seems unnecessary. ... show more

At the time of this review, the product title on this page is wrong for the product I ordered. They are DELUXE smooth, not EXTRA smooth blades for sensitive skin. These deluxe 5-blade razors along with the Venus Platinum (metal) handle are my favorite combination for shaving. They give a clean shave and are less irritating on the skin. Venus brand I feel are the top of all brands out there and I have tried several and come back to Venus and it’s premium price. Bi like these blades but the moisturizing does not last more than 3-4 shaves including legs, than quits. Wish they Gillette would making the moisturizer last as long as the blade does. ... show more

I was using Schick Quattro--had been for years--but with the last few purchases of blade replacements noticed that the blade quality was very poor (they seemed to be dull out of the box and actually hurt to shave with). For those that were not already dull, one or two shaves solved that problem. I went looking for another shaving system and tried the Venus Embrace based upon the reviews. Best shave ever. Seriously. Close, smooth, no razor burn, and no need to keep shaving over the same spot repeatedly. I do use a shaving cream with the blades (I tried the Gillette Satin Care--it was ok; I am now using Cremo). I have also used plain old ordinary Dove soap. The blades are a bit expensive, BUT you can probably get 10 shaves out of one cartridge. I usually change once a week and shave daily. When I change, the blades are not significantly dull. It's a keeper. Wish I had tried it sooner. ... show more
