I have used the Gillette ProGlide for a few years now. Once I ran out of blades I decided to try the Lab model. First off, the Proglide feels better in my hand. Partly, because of the extra weight and the overall design of the handle. The Lab comes with a stand, which I didn't really want to use as I have a nice razor stand. However, the Lab does not fit on a standard stand, thus I am forced to use the Lab's stand. The stand is okay, but I prefer the traditional stand. Also, with the Lab's stand it is easy to knock the razor blade off as it is not very secure. As for the shave, there might be a slight improvement with the Lab razor design, however not that much difference. The Lab has an exfoliating bar, however it doesn't extend the full length of the razor blades, but not sure it is a detriment. For now, I am going back to the ProGlide. Perhaps Gillette will improve the handles design by increasing its weight and making it about to fit a standard razor blade stand. ... show more

    • Excellent Product But It's No Better Than Gillette Fusion Razor

I purchased both the Fusion 5 and GilletteLabs Razors, just to compare them both because I have a heavy beard. My 5 Oclock shadow shows up 3 hours after my shave. The GilletteLabs razor gives you a Barber Shop type of shave i.e. Baby Bottom smooth. I found that the GLabs razor were no better than the Fusion 5 razors in performance and comfort. Both the GLabs and Fusion 5 have equal performance in shaving results and that's probably due to the fact both have 5 blades. One nice thing about both razors is how they glide on your face which makes it nearly impossible to cut yourself. IMO, I think the Fusion 5 is the much better option because you get an equal shave vs the GLabs razor and the Fusion 5 replacement blades are much, much cheaper than the Glabs razorblades. GLab razors are around $5 per razor although you can find them elsewhere for half the cost but they are still more expensive than what you get with the Fusion 5 blades and you get a similar shave. The other great thing about the GLabs and Fusion 5 razors is that they are open in the back so they don't clog. Running the razor under the facet clears them out and you are back to shaving. So I gave it a 4/5 only because of the value. ... show more
