Frequently asked questions

LHR stands for 'Lite Hash Rate'. This is a series of NVIDIA graphics cards that have been designed to be less optimal for cryptocurrency mining with a restricted Ethereum hash rate.

The '256-bit GDDR6' refers to the width of the data bus and the type of dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) used in the GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card. This denotes high-speed memory and better performance, which is crucial for graphic-intensive applications and games.

3X WINDFORCE Fans in the GeForce RTX 3070 denotes the cooling system used in the graphics card. It includes three unique blade fans, alternate spinning, and copper heat pipes, providing more efficient heat dissipation to keep the card cool during high loads.

  • Performance BABY!
As a famous pirate had once said....Hello Beastie... And certainly a beast it is, this card blew my 1660 super out of the water no doubt about that, it has chewed up every single game I had thrown at it, full graphics 1080p or 1440 no problems.....now I haven't really done enough testing since I only had it for like a day, however I can certainly see a difference....and I might even be bottlenecking it too since my hardware is already on the older side, or weaker... Ryzen 5 3600 DDR 4 16gb 3000mhz Msi gaming plus b450 mobo Yeah I'm pretty sure there is some bottlenecking but so far I haven't really noticed, price was good although not quite exact, rtx 3070 at MSRP usually fetch for 499 or 550 but I got mine at $599, not totally unreasonable but I couldn't pass up the deal it was the best I was gonna get, try looking for an rtx 3070 for lower than $650 (if you're lucky) I dare you....most of the 3070s you'll see here are around 700 and above and possibly weaker (friggin scalpers).... If you are worried about LHR, just don't, that's really only meant to reduce performance for crypto-asshats, if you are going to use it for gaming you have absolutely nothing to worry about because the performance will be there.... Overall, I think there might be a shining light for us gamers as we move further ahead, my advice stay patient and be on the lookout, NEVER buy from scalpers....and if you're lucky and find a good deal, don't pass it up just grit your teeth and buy it...... ... show more

  • If you're upgrading from 1070, don't think. Just buy.
So I was running a Gigabyte 1070 on my current pc since early 2019, it was a good card. Lately I have been doing a lot of work involving 3d software and heavy GPU usage and the card was just eating up way to much time. I decided to upgrade originally just for the rtx capabilities. I decided to run some benchmarks before and after and in my case it's about a 200% performance upgrade in all aspects of my computer, gaming, renders, general usage. I'll provide the benchmarks if you are curious. And since this card is also from gigabyte I actually didn't need to change anything, it was just a plug and play card. Easiest install ever, nothing to download, no settings to change, worked straight out of the box, Literally. ... show more

  • Excellent video card from gigabyte
Bought this as a upgrade from a evga geforce gtx 980 SC gpu. Obviously a massive upgrade. The 2070/3070/4070 is the cream of the crop gpu for gaming. If bought at msrp it's the best performance for your dollar. My system: Amd R5 5600x Msi mpg b550 mobo 32gb corsair vengeance pro rgb Corsair 4000D mid atx case. Evga 850 supernova psu Samsung M.2 p980 pro 1tb ssd gen 3 This gpu performs very well in all games. 1440p gpu = balanced 1080p overkill gpu 4k just enough to enjoy it at 30 fps + Over 100 fps at max setting on current triple A games on 1080p and 1440p. On some more demanding titles you'll see some decent 1% lows tho. Average around 70 to 90 fps but is able to push over 144 fps in most dx11 titles. Pros: everything stated above Cons: lack of rgb lol [ basic ] Will fit is mid tower atx case. Just have to sacrifice having a 240mm radiator aio cooler to have enough cooling. ... show more

  • Not as good as I thought it would be for gaming
After doing a lot of research on graphics cards, I bought this to replace my previous Radeon graphics card with was about 8-9 year old. Considering my old one was that old, and I was increasing the performance in several of the areas you consider in a graphics card, I thought that this one would give me much better quality graphics, but I was a bit disappointed that I could see no difference. This did come in quickly and was easy to install and it works fine, other than I have yet to see the fans come on. I'm not sure if they just don't work or it is not getting hot enough to engage them. The other reason I rated this 4 stars is that downloading the drivers was a bit challenging and took a long time. ... show more
