  • first card stopped working after 30 days
Style: GV-N208SGAMING OC-8GC
It does the job - so far on my gaming PC I'm not playing what I think is heavily intense GPU games but I can hear the fans. Using Unigine Heaven stress testing on even low settings produced a noticeable but not critical fan noise. I have the Fractal C Meshify case. I'm usually very sensitive to noise levels but this is okay and doesn't bother me much. IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!!! About a month and a half ago, all of the sudden, the screen went blank and GPU fans went to maximum (jumbo jet engine). Card stopped outputting video signal. Though still within 30 days of Amazon guarantee, I did the mistake of taking it to a PC repair shop, as I thought it might be an easy thing to fix or something other than the GPU. They were unable to pinpoint the issue and tried other PSUs which didn't make a different and other graphic cards with my PC build which worked. I sent the card to Gigabyte and they tested it, indicating that there is nothing wrong with it and sent me back. I tried again and same thing. I went back to the PC repair shop and asked them to test it with a different PC build which they did and they got the same issue. I contacted Gigabyte support again and asked for a replacement this time. It took about 2-3 weeks and constant nagging by me to finally get replacement card (which isn't brand new either). Got it back a couple of days ago and it got immediately recognized by my PC and I was able to install drivers. It is working now. So a brand new card stopped working after less than 30 days. Lemons can happen I guess, but then it took another month and a half to get a replacement card, and initial Gigabyte (manufacturer) feedback was that nothing was wrong with the card even though it was. Replacement card worked right away, indicating card was indeed faulty/defective. While this negative experience doesn't have to do specifically with the card and lemons can happen, I cannot in all honesty give this card more than 3 stars. Furthermore, I would say that manufacturer's support, while not the product itself, is very important - waiting 1.5 months for replacements and constant nagging to customer support is far from positive. Given the above, I advise on NOT purchasing this card from Gigabyte and look for a different implementation/manufacturer. ... show more

  • Very cool and quiet. Better than expected at 1440p
Style: GV-N208SGAMING OC-8GC
First, I'm upgrading from a GTX760 (Gigabyte Windforce 4GB) so the jump in performance for me is huge. However I wasn't expecting the thermals and noise to be as low as they are even stressing it at max settings for Hitman 2/Divinity 2. For Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, my 760 would make a little noise and sit at 75c... this 2080 card DOESN'T EVEN SPIN the fans at Ultra and sits at 53c. Maybe I've been out of the game for a couple years but that's so good. The 4 year warranty (after online registration) is a good plus, took about 5 mins to do. Amazon leave a receipt paper inside the package for the registration ‘proof’ you’ll need for Gigabyte (take a photo of it). With MSI Afterburner I managed to maintain boost under heavy load at 2100 MHZ and 17500 MHZ for the ram, the hottest i've seen so far is 66c with 50% fan speed. So yeah, this thing is a beast - 2080 Super is definitely worth the money as crazy as the prices are these days. The only con I can think of so far is not related to the hardware really, it's that the Gigabyte RGB Fusion software doesn't have an option to ignore Corsair RAM (but there's ways around it so it's not a big deal) If you are like me and are upgrading at least 2 generations and want a fast, cold and quiet card but not willing to blow 1200 on a Ti then 2080 Super is worth a look at as of August 2019. ... show more

  • Almost perfect.
Style: GV-N208SGAMING OC-8GC
This card is ridiculously fast... the only issue issue I have is that when I was benchmarking the card with Quake II RTX with maxed settings at 4K (card was pushing 55 fps with 32 Gb 2400 Mhz DDR4 ram and an Intel core i5 9400f) the card was running very hot. The problem that I noticed with this was that the card's onboard fan control defaults at a higher temperature rate before it turns on (card defaulted to have the fans turn on at around 50-60'c). This is an easy fix - just install the included software (Auros Engine) from the CD to set whatever parameters that you want, including fan speed ratio to GPU temp, and so much more. Once I manually set the ratio parameters for the fan speed, I ran the same benchmark and noticed that the card ran about 5-7'c cooler (this is still an insane benchmark that stresses the gpu to 100%), from 82'c to around 76'-77'c after adjustments. You might want to consider buying secondary case fans to lower the temperatures even more. ... show more

  • No promotional codes for Control & Wolfenstein

Most of the RTX 20 series graphics cards include free game codes for Control & Wolfenstein. This one doesn't.

  • Great video card assuming you get a good unit
Style: GV-N208SGAMING OC-8GC
I ordered one of these back in October and received a faulty unit that presented rendering artifacts shortly before crashing the game/application, locking up the computer, rebooting, or showing the MS frowny face. Since that time I have been working with Gigabyte support to try and get a working unit. RMA #2 had identical issues, and I verified it in three separate computers. It's January and I am on my 3rd RMA with Gigabyte, because the last unit they shipped doesn't manage the thermal level properly to spin up the card's fans when the GPU starts to heat up. I was able to work around the issue using the Aorus utility, but I refuse to be forced to run their app for the rest of the card's life. I've been going back and forth with them after the initial week's delay in their support's response to my ticket. Their last request was for me to upgrade the BIOS to the same version I am currently running after I told them that I was using that version If (when?) you have to RMA your video card, make sure that you request, or demand if need be, that they pay for the shipping. Hopefully I get a working unit sometime soon, ideally before Minecraft with Raytracing is released. ... show more
