This review is for the G34WQC 34". Provided a few pictures for context. Looks great at night and deals with glare very well. 11 inch laptop for size comparison. I was tempted to give this review 4 stars, but then I realized that the few issues I have with the monitor do not out weight the value it presents. Cons: Picture quality could be better - and yes I am using a 1.4 display port for full 144hz resolution. Cons: Monitor is slightly tilted from the box. This could be fixed with a desk stand. Pros: You’re not going to find a better ultrawide monitor for $400. Seriously this thing is a monster. Pros: Gaming is amazing. Came from a 24 inch 1080p monitor. Pros: Immersive. This is my first time experiencing a curved ultrawide monitor. My first thought after initial startup was “this feels different.” Even more so when playing Cyberpunk on pc. Pros: Easy to setup. This thing is an absolute unit and had no problem putting it all together. Pros: Build quality. This monitor does not look or feel cheap. No dead pixels, very bright, and sturdy. Notes: Shipping was much faster than expected. Was initially on back order and came in a month ahead of time. A ton of foam padding in the box it was shipped. Weight is as expected. It’s 34 inch ultrawide monitor. It’s heavy, but not back breaking heavy. One person is more than capable of install. You need a 1.4 display port to run up to 144hz. An HDMI cable will only display 100hz. Final thoughts: Should you buy this monitor? The easy answer would be - yes. However, if you’re looking for a competitive gaming edge then I would recommend sticking to a 27 inch display that runs at a higher refresh rate. If you’re looking for casual, immersive gameplay then this is the monitor for you. ... show more

    • Great screen, failed after 3 months, $122 to ship back!
Bought in december and also the acer equivalent, this had better build and picture, so returned the acer. Went from a dell 27 inch 2560x1440 to this gigabyte. Wow the widescreen is amazing, colors are great and love the crosshair option for gaming. The other day the screen was a blank screen, no matter what pc or laptop or cablws I used, could not get it to work. Very surprised , never had a screen fail on me so quickly. Did an RMA, and 2 things- no prepaid shipping. Cost me $122 at ups with insurance, used original box to ship it. No advanced rma cross ship. So I am out a monitor foe I imafine 2 weeks or more and spent about 25% of the cost of it to send it back. When i had a dell monitor have issues, dell sent a prepaid shipping label and also sent a next day replacement and said ship the old one in the new box. So when i next get a new monitor I will choose a Dell. This is too expensive to ship and I dont see why I should pay for something that was not my fault. Update-i filed online rma and then called. They guy was super helpful, immediately approved rma and sent shipping info took about 2 weeks from when they received it. They replaced the led panel, am now happy again, it is a fine monitor, but I still think they should pay shipping both ways or have like an extra charge optional advanced rma like evga does. ... show more

I didn't buy this for gaming; I bought it for work. I like having spreadsheets and other programs open at the same time all on one screen, and this is great for that. But I also like listening to music. My last LG ultrawide monitor (lower price point, not curved) had actually pretty decent sound aside from bass; this one has nothing. It might as well be my desktop's internal buzzer. One other strange thing to note is that even though it says I'm using 144Hz from a laptop to dock to monitor, it's clearly 60Hz. Using desktop straight to monitor is 100Hz, which I assume is integrated graphics limited. So I have yet to experience 144Hz. Also had a dead pixel all last week, which appears to have resolved itself. Edit 3/23/2023: 144Hz works just great, it was a limit with the Thunderbolt throughput to my dock. Both monitors I purchased have different backlight issues, where it looks like a segment of the edge LEDs have died, which I've been living with for a while now. For $500 a pop, pretty poor quality control. I will be staying with my 4 star review. Would also be nice if it could swivel, even slightly, to account for manufacturing error (left side naturally sits about 1cm lower than the right). ... show more

Coming from an AOC 3440x1440p 100hz 35" 1800R ultrawide (Don't buy AOC, they don't stand behind their warranty and make sure you get Asurion Insurance, they refunded the full price when AOC left me with my pants down) Tested on DOOM E and COD MW Pros: THE COLORS!!! Oh so beautiful, the buttery smooth 144hz (7700k/1080Ti) The brightness of this monitor is lovely and really makes the colors pop. The Price, I paid $900 for my AOC nearly 3y ago, Asurion gave me a full refund so I was able to pick this puppy up at $500ish, I know I'm gassing up Ensurion but they really saved me. The responsiveness is definitely noticeable and extremely fluid. The stand is actually pretty beefy. I notice a slight monitor wobble when I type but I use heavy cherry Mx-Blues, could just be me. Cons: OSD button thingy is on the right side and behind the monitor. I'm a lefty and really appreciate when they design that toggle to be on the bottom of the monitor. Minor gripe, I will adjust Stand that comes with it doesn't have enough height IMO but it can be tilted so its fine for now. Monitor doesn't wake when I am in my boot menu, I have dual boot but I know where each boot location is so I can navigate without the screen, but like why? ... show more
