  • Great
Works well, upgraded again to faster htz

  • Great monitor with two minor issues
For the first time ever, I upgraded from a 27 inch monitor to a... 27 inch monitor. I decided to go for an IPS panel with at least a 144hz refresh rate and <2ms response time, and this one fit the bill. Plus, it's made by Gigabyte, one of my favorite component manufacturers. I opted for a 1080p set, which to me looks perfectly crisp at the distance I sit from my monitor. The installation took me much longer than expected, which brings me to the first small issue - even though the monitor is VESA-mount compatible, with a standard 100x100 pattern, the mounting holes are recessed in the back. This meant that the M4 screws from my existing universal wall mount were too short (by about a half inch) to work, even though they worked perfectly with my previous monitor. I scrounged around my tool box, odds and ends drawer, and cable bag and lucked out by finding one the perfect length and diameter to lock the tilt, and three that were too long, but still worked as support screws. Once the mounting was done, I connected it to my nvidia 1060 card via HDMI cable, booted the computer up, and crossed my fingers. To my surprise windows correctly identified the monitor, and I was up and running in no time. I had no luck getting G-SYNC to work over HDMI, so I switched to the included Display Port cable, and it worked like a charm. Knock on wood, no dead or stuck pixels! I did a little adjusting of the image (mainly lowering the brightness and switching to a different gamma setting), but I was impressed with the image quality out of the box, to be honest. Great colors, more than bright enough, and no ghosting. The only issue with the quality is light bleed - it's noticeable on the left side of the screen during very dark scenes/transitions (not uncommon with IPS panels), but not enough to make it lose more than half a star. I was also impressed with the included cables - HDMI, DP, USB, and an alternate power cable. I would highly recommend plugging the USB cable in even if you don't use the built-in hub - it lets you run OSD sidekick (Google it to download it from Gigabyte), meaning you can control the monitor's features and settings via mouse + keyboard, using the OSD program. You can even set up hotkeys for various features, so you don't have to fiddle around the back of the monitor to mess with the joystick control. So far I am very happy with my first Gigabyte monitor, and it's an easy recommendation if you plan to stick around in 1080p land for a while longer. ... show more

  • Great monitors
I just bought three of these and am really impressed. Very little backlight bleed for IPS panels. Not a single dead pixel on any of them. The OSD Sidekick software works, but you can't use it when connected to multiple monitors, it seems. Not really a big loss because the joystick on the back is easy to use. The software is a cool idea and maybe will get more useful with updates. That's the only real complaint I have, and it's not a big deal. This is the first monitor I've ever had that has USB ports, believe it or not. I tried putting a thumb drive in one, but the way they're placed it's hard to reach behind there to stick them in. You will have to do some adjustments. The picture out of the box isn't really that good. I set the brightness to 25, turn off the gamma, set color balance to 100, 99, 95, and use an ICC profile I found on the internet. All three look great after two minutes of adjusting. If you're wondering whether or not 1080p is good enough for 27 inches, it's really not. I'll get used to it. Either way it's not the fault of this monitor. Just something to think about if you're trying to decide between the 24" and 27" versions. Oh and I'm using a triple monitor mount, but did use the stand for a day on one of the monitors and it seemed pretty good. It doesn't rotate but you should be able to unscrew the stand and mount it vertically. ... show more

  • Overall, pretty good.
It's a decent price range, especially for what it is. Took me a bit to set it up, since I wasn't using an HDMI cord for my display. Had more to do with my computer's cable connection port, though. Overall, good product.

  • Very good monitor for the price, but...
This monitor has great features, tilt, up down sizing, comes with a lot of cables BUT the input button control is very problematic. We plugged in an XBox One S and a laptop and the xBox came up fine but the laptop did not, it turned out to be the HDMI cable (another thing to note, use high end HDMI cables), but trying to get the input switch menu to show up doesn't work unless at least one input actually works. For example: Input 1 (xBox) Works, Input 2 laptop did not. When switched the cables to troubleshoot where the laptop was on Input one, I couldn't even get the menu to show up to switch to the xBox that DOES work on Input 2. This seems very quirky to me and leads one to believe something might not work when it in fact does. As noted above, this REQUIRES high speed HDMI cables, we had an older one to the laptop and it technically isn't a "bad" cable, but this monitor REQUIRES a high speed cable. ... show more

  • Muy buen monitor el Gigabyte G27F
The media could not be loaded. ... show more

  • Very good
I connected this to my asus g14 laptop and for the first month I noticed the screen would freeze and glitch for like 3 seconds every now and then but just realized after messing with the resolution in my settings it stopped doing that. Was completely my fault and this monitor is amazing.
