  • Great sound but could use better instructions.
Very Mellow but throaty sound. It was more mellow than I was expecting. Its civilized and throaty (not obnoxious) when going through downtown city streets. But it gets louder when on it. But not too loud. I think it's perfect. I wanted an exhaust that was fairly quiet in parking lots or at a stop light but let's people know you're rocking a V8 when pulling away hard. This exhaust is perfect for that. I'm happy with it. Installation was a bit tricky. The tolerances between some if the flaired pipe ends were a bit loose. Especially the last piece of pipe that the exhaust tips slip on to. It doesnt have any hangers or any other support than the clamp. I couldn't get the clamp to crush the pipe enough to stop the pipe from twisting down when it heats up. I ended up taking a hacksaw and cutting 4 slits in the flaired end of the pipe so it would have room to shrink when tightening the clamp. This modification seemed to work. The directions could be clearer and especially more detailed. I had a heck of a time figuring out how to install the exhaust hanger on the driver side. The description is not detailed and the small black and white picture was very hard to see to figure it out. I'm still not sure of I have it installed right. It's on ther bit the rubber connector seems to hang sideways and not vertical. The clamps are ok. I can see why some reviewers said they were crap because they aren't tight on the pipe. It think it's due to the loose pipe tolerances that I mentioned earlier. Also, use hand tools to tighten the clamps and not an air tool. That could strip the threads. Overall I'm happy with the exhaust system. ... show more

  • Gibson Performace Exhaust 65658 Stainless
I like the Gibson Exhaust. It has a nice sound but it is on the louder side. There is a drone when you are cruising with it. I have a Maganflow on my Chev SS 2007 Impala. It has a more mellow sound. I would have bought that but I got this Gibson for I believe in the $500+ range. The Magnaflow was about $900 + so I figured for half the cost both having lifetime guarantees I would give it a try. If you are on a budget and like a louder sound something like a Flowmaster you will like the Gibson. It gave my truck a little more power I believe they claim about 15-20 HP. If you don't like a drone at highway speed then I would spend the money on a Magnaflow. I am assuming the Magnaflow would sound similar on the truck. Both 5.3 V8 engines. They did increase the horsepower on the 2015 Silverado so there could be a slight sound difference. Check youtube for some videos for sound. ... show more

  • Perfect for my truck
Pretty loud on startup which is awesome, then has a nice growl when driving, not too loud. Sounds okay with AFM and in V4 mode.. the instructions say this muffler is made for vehicles with AFM mode. The instructions are poor.. it’s just one image and I had to look up how to install the driver side exhaust because my truck came stock with a single exhaust, but it did come with the parts to install it on the driver side. Overall, very happy with it, it sounds like a truck now. If you don’t like the V4 mode noise then I suggest buying an AFM delete for your OBD port. ... show more

  • Don’t work on it hot
Mechanically inclined folks will have no problem. Good instructions. I do have a car lift that greatly aided the application. Working on my back on concrete is not good for me but it can be done

  • 2017 Sierra 1500 SLT
Great sound, lower price, and easy to install. I love it. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the provided clamps. For the price and reputation of Gibson, I was disappointed that all the provided clamps were the same as the store bought "fix-it fast" ones.

  • Sounds great
Firmest was great sound is amazing intake and tune definitely compliment the exhaust I with it was 2.5 or 3” duals but it still performs well with the 2.25” pipes
