  • Great mailbox that holds up to the weather.... and holds up decently after a beating
Color: Mocha Style: Kit
I put up this mailbox at our house in Spring 2012 and 4 years later, it still looks just as good as when it was installed. My wife absolutely LOVES the fact that she can open the back door and retrieve the mail without stepping on the side near the street. Installation was easy requiring only a 4x4 post in the ground. I only dug the hole about 20" down and filled with quikrete and that was plenty to make it sturdy. The only thing I would like is a better (thicker?) design around the plastic "gussets". I have found that this is a weak point when I drove too close to the box with my lawnmower, caught the box with an armrest, and torqued it to the side. The good news is that the box bounced back to the original position --- the bad news is that it tore the plastic. Fortunately, the mailbox still holds up and appears normal unless you really look close or try to force the box sideways. My wife didn't even notice until I pointed it out to here many months later. All in all, this is a great mailbox and holds up well to the elements... and even tolerates some excessive external forces. I thought of dropping a star for not holding up to a torsional force; however, since the mailbox still looks nice and remains sturdy even with the tears in the plastic, I decided it was still worthy of a 5-star rating. ... show more

  • Very pretty mailbox
Color: Green Style: Kit
Attractive mailbox with plenty of room for packages, etc. Fairly easy to install and looks good. The only negative is that I would have liked there to have been self-plugs to hide the screws (into the wood post base).

  • Love it but…
Color: Mocha Style: Kit
Received quick from the seller. This mailbox has a quality look and excellent plastic materials that make it inherently waterproof and rustproof compared to metal boxes out there. There are a couple things in the directions that help you in the build so do read them. One thing in particular not mentioned in the directions part 4 was difficult for me (see pic) is when aligning the slots and using my body as a brace I did have trouble getting it in and had to employ my wife to help hold in place. That said, after that it was a breeze. Also you must purchase lettering separately. You will need 2 and 1/4 (2.25) inch letters to fit in the given location. Some people use larger ones and get them to work but I would recommend to not do that. We do love our new mailbox and totally recommend it. Put some stone around the base so you don’t have to trim it! ... show more

  • Overall good with a few minor flaws
Color: Mocha Style: Kit
Overall, this looks good and was easy to put together. It's a decent size for packages and won't rust like my old one. However, sliding the mailbox onto the newspaper holder (the final assembly step) was tough. I bent some of the plastic on my first attempt and found that the notches had excess plastic which prevented it from sliding together. I cut that off with a utility knife and that solved it. It also could be a little more solid. My post is solid but the mailbox will wiggle a little bit from the places where the plastic fits together. It isn't a problem, but I just like when something feels like it's sturdy. ... show more

  • Looks good and works well
Color: Mocha Style: Kit
It does take two people to install. If it is important to you the mail box can be accessed from the front and rear.

  • Sturdy and not difficult to install
Color: Green Style: Kit
Easy to put together and install. I watched a YouTube video to understand how to put the mailbox together. The video is better than the instructions that come with it. Will need drill if you don’t have a strong grip like me. I bought the 6’ post and house numbers separately. And a 50lb bag of QuickCrete. The house numbers were purchased from Curb-n-sign from Amazon. My investment in a “post leveler” was worth it. I had to cut about 8” off the post so the mailbox would meet the USPS height requirements. I dug my hole about 24” and placed some gravel at the bottom of the hole for drainage before placing the post and pouring the bag of QuickCrete. I stabilized the post while the concrete hardened. After curing, I slipped the mailbox over the post (purchased separately). I secured the mailbox to the post with the screws provided. I then attached my house numbers with similar screws (galvanized). House numbers purchased separately. FYI: I moved my mailbox from my front porch to the street. I had to get permission from USPS before moving. I also had the underground gas line marked before digging. ... show more
