Yes you need to buy a case for the LG G4 that has wireless charging capability built in. The phone doesn't come with qi wireless charging built in. It is definitely worth the extra cost to spend for this charger and the appropriate case of your choice as wireless charging is super convenient. This charger works great with the LG G4 circle wireless charging case. Works perfectly together. I figure that since I got a free extra battery and charging case for the battery and a 32 Gb SD card for free from LG for purchasing the phone, paying for the charging stand and case is no big deal. :-) ... show more

This wireless charger works great with my phone.l have tried others that l could never get to work with my phone. This is my second charger and it works great just like the first one I purchased. If you have an LG G3 and need a wireless charger, you need to get this one. You will however, have to have an original LG cable to connect to the charger and your computer or a 120vlt plug-in wall adapter. And this company was a wonderful company to do business with.     • It Works with Plastic Back; Not So Well with Leather; NeWisdom Charger Works Noticeably Better Than This LG One
It seems to work marginally with a leather back on a G4; works much better with no case and just a plastic back. Can be finicky as to exact placement of phone in order to actually charge. I bought both the LG charger and the NeWisdom wireless charger for the G4 and somewhat surprisingly find that the NeWisdom works noticeably better with a leather back than the LG charger itself. I actually have 2 leather backs for my phone, one that I installed the NeWisdom charging antenna in and one that came with it pre-installed. While the one that came pre-installed seems to work fine, the one that I installed works fine on other Qi wireless chargers but not on the NeWisdom or LG chargers. It needs to sit an inch and a half or so higher up to actually charge and neither the NeWisdom or the LG chargers adjust for the height of one's phone. What's up with that? Why does my phone have to be that high up if they both have 3 coils in the chargers? The pre-installed antenna version works just fine however and does not seem too particular as to exact placement on the NeWisdom charger but it IS quite sensitive as to placement on the LG charger. Given the similarity in price, I recommend just buying the NeWisdom Qi charger for the LG G4 and being done with it. And no, no one gave me a discount or other incentive to post this review. ... show more

    • My everyday charger for my LG G4
I use this as my everyday charger for my LG G4. Works great. I had to install the wireless charging antenna in my G4 s the US version does not come with it. I'm told the European LG G4 comes with wireless charging antenna standard. Folds up small for taking with you on trips.

Verizon LG G4 doesn't work with this unless you buy a compatible case or a stick-on chip to go inside the back door. I'd rather save my money and just plug my USB cord in. All the sellers on here are from the UK ---- make sure you realize that before you order a $50 item and have to pay $20 to return it >:/ ... show more

I bought the LG G4 charger and the matching LG clock wireless charging case. I really don't know how to rate this item because it won't work. Is it the case or the charging unit? If any one knows how to test the items for functionality please let me know. I guess I can return the items.
