I was skeptical making this purchase because there were no reviews on it at all. However, there were reviews for the CNC machines this company sells. They were good reviews. What impressed me most in the reviews for their CNC machines was what their customers had to say about how good the customer service was. This is rare! I took a gamble and bought one. It came nicely packaged in a box with each of the accessories in there own box. The router body slid easily into each of the three different bases it came with and all the bases locked well around the router body as they should. It's a nice looking router. I have only used it one time so far. I used it to cut out a 5' x 6' window opening that was covered with 3/8 inch O.S.B. sheathing. I used a Carbide-Tipped Single-Flute Pilot Panel Concave Router Bit to do the job. It worked very well. I expected it to get hot because of the reviews I had read about it's look alike (The Makita RT0701C 1-1/4 HP Compact Router) It didn't get hot at all. I needed a router for insetting something into a wood plank. I am not a woodworker but like to tinker with projects and crafts. I shopped a local hardware store and found something of a similar design but with this kit I got much more for the price. The feel of the tool seems solid. I've used the fixed based and I noticed there was a little slop in the clamping of the router into the base. I probably have to adjust the nut on the clamp better. I like the speed control at the top. Only draw back is I wish there was a light on it, I've seen others that have a built in light. Not a deal breaker I can use an external table light. The vacuum attachment worked great for getting rid of the wood chips. Now lets see how it holds up over time. ... show more

    • Good Value Compact Palm Router With Accessories

This Genmitsu 1.25 HP 65mm Diameter Palm Trimmer Router is a basic palm router with a round, fixed base and adjustable depth controls. It has a 1/4" chuck (which can also accept 5/16") and six different speed settings from 10K-30K RPM. The included wrenches and guides are nice, although somewhat hard to understand how to use from reading the manual. The overall construction and quality of the router is good, and at the price is a good value for an entry-level tool. It is made of aluminum and grippy plastic, and looks very similar to one made by another brand-name company. In use, the router worked admirably with plenty of power. The slow startup makes it easy to keep under control, and the variable speed helps to match the cut with the material. It is pretty easy to change bits although the small size of this router makes it feel a little cramped; and there is a 1/2" limit of the size of the bits that fit the base. The depth adjustment is not super precise, which is OK for me, but might be problematic for high-precision work. It just takes a little extra effort to set it up. I don't plan on using this tool a lot, but it's the only way to make that certain cutout I occasionally need when building frames for my model railroad. I'm happy with this router and look forward to using it more in the future. Five Stars! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I got this router for secondary use because my Craftsman router is mounted to a table saw. I can use this router for small jobs instead of taking the Craftsman off and then having to remount it. First impression- the packaging leaves a little to be desired. The box arrived ripped open on one corner. Nothing appeared to be missing though. Would be nice if it came in a tool bag or something more permanent to keep all of the parts and accessories together. Next - parts and accessories. Included are the instruction manual, two wrenches, spare motor brushes, a dust shield, and two accessories. Also included are a couple of things that I don't know what they are use for and aren't mentioned in the instructions (second photo). One of the accessories is a straight edge guide and the trimmer guide is for edges close to the router bit. The instructions show how to use a couple of other accessories, a template guide, tilt base, offset base, and a plunge base but I couldn't find these on the company's web site. Using the router the first thing I noticed is that the dust shield catches on the clamp hardware so it does not install or remove easily. (Third photo.) I filed a little bit off the dust shield so it misses the clamp. Not mentioned is the small push-in shaft lock that can be used to hold the shaft when changing bits. (Third photo.) One nice feature of this router is the slow start. The Craftsman router kicks, or jerks, when starting but this router slowly increases its speed so don't have to worry about it jumping out of your grip. I added a video of it starting smoothly without holding it. The router has the ability to adjust the speed of the motor, but the instructions caution you to not run it a low speeds for an extended amount of time. (Fifth photo.) All the other routers I've used didn't have this feature and not sure why you'd want to cut with a slow speed but it's available. As far a using the router, it has enough power to cut hardwoods (I edged a piece of hickory) without slowing. The only other thing of note is this is a compact router so you have to be careful to keep the base flush with the wood. Overall, it's a nice router that will come in handy for small jobs when needed. PS- the instructions are only in English and German. UPDATE: I found a nice tool bag to hold the router and accessories. Search for "Bag Compatible with DEWALT 20V MAX Bluetooth Speaker DCR010". I've added a photo of it. ... show more
