This GM1200i is for my camping and keeping my RV maintained in the off season. This is very light weight at 25lbs. Exactly what I wanted. Set up was easy-peasy. Have 10w30 oil on hand as oil is not included. I really can’t find anything to complain about. Fit, finish and construction are well done. All outlets, resets and switches are covered so dust, dirt and moisture won’t get in. Comes with spark plug tool, screw driver, flexible screw in funnel, AND set of parallel cables! I really am a fan of “no tool access”. Side panel, oil and spark plug access covers come off without a screwdriver. Also, having a separate fuel shut off valve is a big plus. You can run the carburetor dry to shut down so no fuel remains sitting in the carb when not being used short term. Before adding the oil first time, I always empty out the small amount of oil left from factory run test. Added appropriate amount of oil, put in “non ethanol” gas, turned on the fuel valve and vent cap. Put the choke lever to choke. Two pulls of the starter cord and away it went. Plugged in my 900 watt heater and not a whimper. It ramped up to meet the load, and not even a flash of the overload light. It’s really quiet with eco switch on, and very quiet even under heavy load. There’s a really good YouTube video by Gavin’s Garage testing this GenMax GM1200i and other GenMax inverter generators you should watch. I know I could have bought a bigger unit for a little more money, but this is perfect for us. Light weight, sips gas, easy maintenance and the right price. I’m impressed! ... show more

This thing stays in my truck. Take it camping, 2 pulls started right up. Had about 1000w plugged into it, lights, fan, radio and it ran for 6-7 hours no problem on a single tank of gas. It lives up to the billing of being quiet! You forget it is even on it's so quiet. Size and weight is very convenient. Can't believe how light it actually is. I have used it around my house when extension cords were not an option (distance) with power tools. I can't talk this thing up enough. In this price range and even 3 x more there is nothing that compares to it. I would highly recommend this product for camping, or projects around the house. I love this thing! ... show more

What a waste of money. I just got it and it will not run. The co2 sensor goes off immediately and sits out down. This was an integral part of my daughters wedding and now I'm screwed. Don't waste your time or money on any genmax product, it's cheap junk

I spent about an hour trying to start this unit when I first got it. I finally decided to pull the spark plug and found it completely broke in half. It had to happen at the factory as the plug is well protected. Bought a new plug and it started first pull from then on out. Otherwise it performed as expected. This little generator is awesome for a tailgating setup. In my test, I ran my crockpot (265w), 50in Smart TV (144w), and for a full load test, threw in my waffle iron (650w). It ran the cockpot and TV without issue and hardly ramped up. With the waffle iron, it was full throttle, but this was to be expected. This is exactly what I was looking for as it will be running these two items while my friends and I tailgate college and professional football games, all while being whisper quiet when 25 feet away. Comparing this to other (red) machines, this is 1/3 the price, lighter weight, and just as functional. I would 100% recommend this to my friends. ... show more

After I broke it in I used a 1200 W air pump and it works right up to the 1200 limit. So far so good.
