The media could not be loaded. Picked this generator as it was only 3 days to get; reviews good, and had high power output for the money. First issue was the three day delivery ended up being 1 1/2 weeks - no doubt due to extreme demand due to the massive storms that did so much damage on west coast - reason I ordered in fact. It came all the way from east coast. Would not start after I followed directions. I'd advise anyone who pulls more than a few times to open it up; no need to put in the 30+ pulls I did. On opening it was clear that spark plug was broken. On close examination, it looks like there was corrosion present during manufacturing - see photo. A new plug (ngk brand) from amazon arrived in a couple of days; and ONE PULL started right up. There was some shattered glass around the plug hole I got out with adhesive tape on end of a stick - in retrospect I should have used a small tube connected to a shop vac. I did a break in - and it ran for nearly four hours on a quarter tank. I tested with progression of loads. No problem at 13.1 amp; at 17 amps I got the red 'overload light' but still output power for a couple of minutes - which would be what was needed for a 'start' load for a refer for example. After that, the power output shut off and error light came on. This requires a restart to clear. After the four hour break in, I drained the oil. It was really dirty, with lots of metal sheen - see pix. Put in fresh oil, drained the remaining gas - so easy with drain line and valve already installed by mfgr; and then put the rig away for some future need. I reported my spark plug problem and the manufacturer was very responsive. They offered to send a new plug and gave me a break on cost. This was much better than me sending unit back - so a win win. I'm very pleased with quick response from Genkins, and have found this to be a well designed unit and a great value. If you buy this unit - make sure you 'break it in' and then change the oil! This is not in the directions but necessary for long service. The directions also say 'check battery' if it won't start - that's meaningless as there is no battery; check the spark plug! ... show more

I didn't know much about about portable generators when I purchased this Genkins 2300 watt inverter generator. This one did well in the research I did (price/noise level/portability/power output). This is the first one I've owned. I can tell you it met or exceeded all of my expectations. I bought this in December 2022. As of April I have run this generator 8 - 12 hours a day every single day since the day I bought it and had no problems with it at all. It's out there right now humming along merrily powering this computer, my internet, cable TV, all my lights and recharging my phone and my iPad and a couple of Jackery portable power banks right now. I can run pretty much anything I need to run such as my microwave, dishwasher, food disposal, toaster, coffeemaker, power tools, shop-vac, mitre saw.... my girlfriend uses her hairdryer too. Not all at once of course but we can power pretty much anything we need with it. I'm still amazed it will run all day and into the evening on a tank of gas. I've followed the manufacturers recommended maintenance schedule and I keep the oil changed. That's it. This generator has exceeded my expectations. The first time I changed the oil it was still tilted from when I was draining out the old oil and appeared to be full of oil when in fact I had not put enough oil back in it. That could have ended in disaster and it would have been my fault. The automatic shutdown worked. The generator shut off and the oil light came on. I leveled it and filled it the rest of the way up with oil and did not make that mistake again. I also managed to strip the three position on/off/choke selector on the front. I emailed the manufacturer and the new one arrived in the mail a couple days later so I was also very impressed with customer service.     • First one would not start.
The first 2300 watt unit I received would not start, no spark. Communication with Genkins was slow as it seems like my answers were coming from China in broken English. There is no phone number here in the U.S. that will answer when you call. Eventually, I received a shipping label and was told to drain gas and oil and repack in the original package and take to FedEx. Once they got that unit they sent another one, without any shipping notice. Luckily I was home when it arrived. The second unit works as advertised and almost runs the main A/C on my travel trailer by itself. It will run the smaller unit without any problem and runs all other accessories on the trailer with ease. Parallel 2 of these units and I can run everything for a little over 1/2 the price of one 2000 watt Honda. It's noisier than I expected but I can live with that for the price. I haven't run it very much yet but think it's going to be a good generator. NOTE: Keep the package and all accessories in good shape until you're sure you don't have to return it. ... show more
