Firstly, the generator was supposed to arrive Friday 9/10/2021. It actually got her the 9th. Kudos to your shipping department. I unboxed it and read the clearly written instructions. After adding gas and oil, I pulled the starter cord twice and it fired right up. It was much quieter than I expected. I let it run for about an hour under no load to allow everything to tested out. Then I put it under a light load for about 30 minutes. The next day we started a 3 day camping trip with our 19' camper trailer. The site was primitive, no sewer, no water, and no electrical. I have solar cells as well, so they will charge the battery. But I cannot run the TV, DVD player microwave, coffee pot, toaster, or small cooling fans off of the battery. The generator easily ran all of those 110V appliances, as well as maintaining a charge on the battery so I did not need to break out the solar package. . It will run the rooftop AC unit, fan only. However, when the compressor kicks in the generator shuts down. That is not a deal breaker. The weather was great so we were fine without the AC. All in all, A+ rating. The media could not be loaded. Filled up with special mineral oil with special extra zinc chemical to break in the engine and seat the rings. Was a little hard to start the first time. Took many pulls to start. With the next two oil change break ins, it starts on the first pull. The next to last break in period it stopped by itself, I turned off the ESC throttle and it ran perfectly. The break in oil was Maxima 30-10901 Premium Break-in 10W-30. The final oil Mobil 1 10W-30 . Used the WEN 55201 Magnetic Oil Dipstick and it fit perfect, although Genkins brand is not listed as fitting. When changing the oil I did not find as much on the magnet as I had seen in Youtube videos. This does have a fuel gauge on the top not listed an Amazon, I liked that suprise. I am impressed with the quality. I think this is a lot of generator for your money. Last year 2022 after IAN in Tampa Florida we lost all our food in our Frig and Freezer. This is large enough to run our frost free 11 cubic foot freezer and a 25 cubic foot frig at the same time. We can unplug and plug other things in also like on the old TV show Green Acres. Now sitting tight for Idalia 2023 tomorrow. Let hope we do not have to use this new Genkin GK2300i. ... show more

I didn't know much about about portable generators when I purchased this Genkins 2300 watt inverter generator. This one did well in the research I did (price/noise level/portability/power output). This is the first one I've owned. I can tell you it met or exceeded all of my expectations. I bought this in December 2022. As of April I have run this generator 8 - 12 hours a day every single day since the day I bought it and had no problems with it at all. It's out there right now humming along merrily powering this computer, my internet, cable TV, all my lights and recharging my phone and my iPad and a couple of Jackery portable power banks right now. I can run pretty much anything I need to run such as my microwave, dishwasher, food disposal, toaster, coffeemaker, power tools, shop-vac, mitre saw.... my girlfriend uses her hairdryer too. Not all at once of course but we can power pretty much anything we need with it. I'm still amazed it will run all day and into the evening on a tank of gas. I've followed the manufacturers recommended maintenance schedule and I keep the oil changed. That's it. This generator has exceeded my expectations. The first time I changed the oil it was still tilted from when I was draining out the old oil and appeared to be full of oil when in fact I had not put enough oil back in it. That could have ended in disaster and it would have been my fault. The automatic shutdown worked. The generator shut off and the oil light came on. I leveled it and filled it the rest of the way up with oil and did not make that mistake again. I also managed to strip the three position on/off/choke selector on the front. I emailed the manufacturer and the new one arrived in the mail a couple days later so I was also very impressed with customer service. When I think about it, the only thing Genkins has failed to do is give me something to bit*h about. ... show more

    • Solid little generator
I bought this 2300W inverter generator mainly for backup power and camping, and it has performed great so far. Setup was simple, added oil and gas, pulled twice, and it started right up. At around 50 pounds, it’s light enough to carry by myself, and the handle makes it easy to move around. It’s not as quiet as a small Honda, but still very reasonable. From about 10 feet away it just sounds like a low hum in the background. It easily powers my water booster pump during outages, but running multiple heavy appliances at once can overload it. Fuel efficiency is good, around 8 hours at half load, and the built in fuel gauge and auto low oil shutoff are nice touches. It’s a little sensitive to oil levels, so I top it off regularly. Overall, this is a great value generator for home backup or RV use. Starts easy, runs steady, and feels well built. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for reliable portable power without breaking the bank. ... show more

    • Great little generator!
I've been off-grid solar since the Dark Ages.... so I've had my share of backup generators, and this is the best so far! Last one was a Predator 2400 watt, about 8 years old and getting tired. What an improvement. This generator is very light. I couldn't believe it when I picked it up. I have only used it 4 or 5 times, but so far it has literally started first pull, every time. The fuel gauge is super handy, it's very quiet (for a generator) and the integrated choke on/off switch is also handy and sensible. It bogs and waivers very little, if at all, whereas the old Predator was all over the place. An appropriately weird-shaped oil funnel is also included, and makes a finicky job much easier. Great generator, and wow the price is terrific. Very nice. I'll be sure to update if any problems come up, but so far so good. ... show more
