I recently bought an office chair that had very aggressive lumbar support. Due to the design, I was unable to remove it and it was too tight for a saw. The lumbar support holder was 2 inches of thick hard plastic. It was able to get through about 1/2 an inch of it then the cable broke. I grabbed a glove and held the shredded side and went at it again. It broke again about at the 1-inch mark. I repeated these steps with the other half and got to 3/2 of an inch and by then I could just rip it off with my hand. I didn't want to upload any pictures as to miss lead people into thinking it's junk and broke. Did it work for my odd job? yes, and it was worth the $6. Would this cut through PVC pipe? Oh easily and efficiently. I would reckon it would be great for light home projects. Would reccomend! ... show more

    • Bought it for cutting plastic drainage pipes
Like I said, I bought this to cut plastic, 4 inch, corrugated drainage pipes buried 6 inches deep on my property that needed to be removed. I had two pipes which had to be cut in several sections for removal. They were buried 6 inches deep among roots and vines and in tightly packed dirt. This tool was easy to push under the buried pipe and within about 5 to 10 cutting strokes, each pipe was cut. It went through them like a hot knife through butter. Rating 4 stars, is a quality built tool and probably does great for what it’s designed for. However I needed to cut down a goats horn and this did not have aggressive enough burs to accomplish that. Used something called a “Commando saw” to do the trick

    • Does not cut through PVC
I bought it to cut through 2 inch schedule 40 pipe. It doesn’t cut at all. It just a wire and rather smooth one. it slides up and down as you pull it back and forth but hardly even scratches the pipe (after all it just a wire). It’s too smooth to make a grove to start cutting in and does not seem that it would even cut if you can make a groove with something else. I am rather disappointed in the quality as idea is a solid one, but execution is just terrible. I think if wire had some roughness to it (or even better tiny spikes) it should work. Easily cut through PVC and ABS pipe. Ended up with nice straight cuts....worked as expected. Not sure how long it will last, but let's be honest I'll probably lose it before I need to cut pipe again. Given it's price, I'd definitely buy it again if needed.

Did the truck and worked tut only one time. After on job it wore out and wouldn’t cut anymore. I guess the price is right though.
