My daughter is a freshman in high school and was ready for a flute upgrade. She wanted a nice flute to follow her to college, so I started to research flutes using info from her band teacher. That's when I found this seller and bought this beautiful Gemeinhardt flute. On Christmas morning my daughter was so surprised and overwhelmed and I was proud to have been able to afford such a beautiful instrument - the pricing was better than anywhere else I looked (and believe me- I LOOKED A LOT!) This seller even honored my request to get the flute to me quickly because I ordered only days before Christmas. Great seller! Great flute in wonderful, like new (I swear it IS new!!) ... show more

    • Five stars for M3S, but not for the seller...
The Gemeinhardt M3S is a great intermediate flute. It's sturdily built, and produces a rich clear tone; even on the extreme upper and lower registers. It's sturdily built, and has held up well through marching band, concert band, and orchestra. I found this one when searching for a reasonably priced good quality open hole I could continue to play in college band and after high school. I purchased this used for $130. The flute's description said that it was "missing a pad, that would need to be replaced" but failed to mention that it had several rusted pad rings, and some bent keys. This required $56 dollars in repairs, but still added up to less than buying a new one. These unmentioned defects were the sellers fault, and don't involve the M3S model itself. The only complaint I have with the model, is that it doesn't have a B foot, and can only go down to middle C. Since that note is hardly ever used anyway, it's still a great flute. ... show more
