The Gear Aid 550 Paracord Utility Line is a 4mm cordage made of 100% nylon that comes in 30 ft and 100 ft. Use it to secure shelter, make a clothesline or create a survival bracelet. This utility line also makes a durable paracord belt or shoe lace. With its 7-strand construction, the possible uses of this paracord rope are only limited by your imagination. The 550 Paracord offers strength, safety and visibility while outdoors. When your gear fails, this multipurpose paracord makes improvisation possible and tie downs in a cinch. From the backyard to the backcountry, keep the 550 Paracord nearby to accomplish a variety of tasks, big or small. This multipurpose cordage is perfect for camping, backpacking or hunting. The heavy duty construction makes it ideal as a tie down strap or bear hang rope. Seven inner strands can be pulled apart and used as a fishing line, thread or floss.     • High visibility at night for tent lines and similar uses

This 550 Paracord has a bit of a rough texture which I generally find preferable for tying knots but, it is harder to pull or push through various fastening points or through a fabric sleeve in a tent. It works really well cut into lengths for guy lines for a tent or camping tarp because they will show up in any light that hits the reflective threads woven into it. At $15 for 100 feet, I find it a bit expensive for what it is but, it does work well and is somewhat unique so a solid buy if you need this type of product. Otherwise, I would just get normal paracord in a vibrant color. For myself, it is working well as guy lines staking my tent or camping tarp down so it does not flutter in the wind. For my camping tarp, keeping everything taught is important to keep moisture out as any sag or flutter will fling or drip water onto my sleeping bag or my face. ... show more

I like the color of this paracord. It's bright, and I use it to make lanyards for small items like a Swiss Army Knife and my flash drives.
