Used them for a canoe with form fitted seats (which I don’t think they’re supposed to be used for) however the seat’s back rest leans against the crossbar of a trolling mount so I can lean back comfortably and it supports my full weight (200lbs). I think it's overpriced. but it's better than the hard plastic seats. backsupprt is weak. more of a sit on cushion that looks good. - I've leared a trick on my pelican scanoe, when im fishing and not moving. I tilt the trolling motor out of the water and make the head top of the motor dig into the backsupport of the seat creating a very nice back support. ... show more

I bought this for my sit in kayak bc it came with a soft back chair. I need the hard back metal so I could attach a chair umbrella and kayak chair cooler to it. I do wish the metal had cushioning on it though bc it digs into my back/bottom of my shoulder blades when I lean back on it. It works for what I need it. I didn’t “install” it into my kayak, just plopped it on top of soft chair it already came with installed.
