This is a fantastic product and sooo much fun for our 7 year old. It says on the ATV that it is meant for riders 12 and up so it really depends on your judgement and your kiddos awareness if you should purchase for a younger child. The pads fit her well and are adjustable for a much bigger kid so we expect that they will last her until she outgrowns the ATV. It doesn't do well climbing hills or in loose sand or tall grasses but if you have some flat land or trails to ride, this ATV is hours and hours of fun. I recommend getting a 1 gallon gas can to mix fuel as the provided mixing container takes three or 4 mixes to fill the tank. It is fairly loud, as you would expect the 2 stroke engine to be, but we have 2.5 acres and it's not too loud for the neighbors. Assembly is easy and can be done with the provided tools in about a half hour to an hour. Get a good motocross helmet and gloves. The rest of the provided kit is perfect. ... show more
