  • Update: Even Happier with these garlic bulbs!
Size: 7 Count (Pack of 1)
NEW REVIEW FOR 2023: This is our 2nd year ordering these garlic bulbs. This year, the bulbs we received are even more beautiful! They are large, white bulbs, with not a speck of mildew. We were so happy with last year's harvest that we are planting 3x the amount this year. Worth noting, last winter (our first year of planting these bulbs) was one of the coldest winters on record here in zone 7B. When the freezing temps arrived, we covered our garlic row with frost cloth and every plant made it. It was a very harsh winter for this region with temps in the low teens. After harvesting, we dried and cured, then ran it through the food processor then froze in air-tight bags. This made it handy for cooking since it was already chopped. HERE IS MY ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM LAST YEAR: We wanted to add garlic to our winter garden (zone 7B). Planted two rows of these garlic bulbs a few weeks before the first frost. All emerged. We only planted the ones that looked prime and used the rejects for cooking but had plenty to fill the bed. First photo was taken last fall, shortly after planting. Second photo was taken this spring, after harvesting. These guys all survived a very unseasonably cold winter in North Carolina with lows in the teens. We did harvest them a bit earlier than planned due to a deluge of rain in the spring. We have heavy clay soil so rot is always a threat when it rains for too many consecutive days. Even though we had to harvest early, still pleased with the results and will be planting them again this fall. ... show more

  • Huge bulbs with 10 - 13 segments in each one!
Size: 20 Count (Pack of 1)
These GARLIC BULB (20 Pack), FRESH CALIFORNIA SOFTNECK packages, are totally excellent and hey, 20 x 10 -13 segments are a massive amount of growth potential and easy to separate. I ordered 2 of these 20 bulb packs and am extremely happy with my purchase with the big volume coming from these huge bulbs. I have separated and planted all but two of the bulbs and there was no rotting or discoloring at all in any segments- this is a good company to do business with! Saving two for eating in various dishes was a great idea- this garlic tastes good, and I am looking forward to future harvesting. Great find! ... show more

Size: 7 Count (Pack of 1)
I received 7 perfect bulbs with a LARGE outer ring of huge cloves. Absolutely perfect for planting. I have been planting them around my garden and they sprouted within about 4 days and look really good 4 weeks in. Zone 9a .

  • Beautiful Well-Filled Out Heads
Size: 8 Count (Pack of 5)
I was surprised at the quality of these beautiful well-filled out heads of garlic. They way exceeded my expectations. They are a good size for planting. As they say in the description, way better than store bought! Worth the money, and I highly recommend these garlic bulbs.

  • Fresh, but with rot
Size: 8 Ounce (Pack of 1)
These bulbs are fresh, so are heavy and require a bit more effort to peel because of the freshness. The flavor is good, typical garlic. I used it for garlic confit and it turned out as delicious as all garlic I've used in the recipe previously. However, the freshness was accompanied by some rot. Pictured is one entire bulb, peeled. The toes are large, as shown, so there aren't as many toes per bulb as other garlic varieties, but larger toes are relatively easier to peel than small toes , so that's a plus. The 1/2 lb. order I received consisted of three bulbs; do not be deceived by the listing photo (as I was), which suggests that a 1/2 lb. is many more bulbs than I received. These are heavy bulbs because of water weight due to their freshness. I used two bulbs for cooking, and they were as shown in the photo. The third I planted (per one of the uses listed in the product description), and I will update this review at a much later date. I will not be ordering these again. The garlic I can source locally tastes just as good, is sold by the piece, and is significantly less expensive than this. ... show more

  • Ordered Twice, first time was great, second time was so so
Size: 7 Count (Pack of 1)
I ordered the soft neck garlic twice. The first time was great, got nice sized bulbs and planted them and most of them sprouted. I ordered them again recently, and this time it was just so so. Some bulbs not as fresh, some already dried up, so maybe I got a bad batch, or just the timing when I ordered was off. So first order was 5 stars, second was 3 stars. I hope if I order again next time, I get the 5 stars. Overall, garlic is easy to plant, and a good crop to grow. ... show more
