No idea why this item gets the negative reviews, but then checking the pics I can see they are completely different items and not for the Hand weeder tool which is the only item available here at this moment in time. Having started my gardening 'experience' only last year, as I only lived in capital cities around the world, I knew about the chemical solutions you apply on weeds but not about this item which is handier bearing in mind I have to remove weeds around our koi carp pond the previous owner could not be bothered to do: 1. It has a strong wood, long grip with a leather string you can easily put it on the wall hook, if you like hanging all the tools you have acquired, where electric or not 2. The blade itself is rather long yet strong and I tried using it when I received it yet at no point I put the whole length in the ground as it was not necessary: some weeds have long roots hence cutting the ground delicately in the shape of an ice cream cone, some roots are located more towards the surface and this 'surgical tool' worked like magic. I read reviews about this tool snapping in two and I doubt if you have the delicate hands of a woman or care about your tools you can actually destroy it. I always say to myself: treat everything the way you would like to be treated - maybe that is why I have clothes looking amazing since I was a teenager. 3. Finally, the price is way better than the long tool you use standing which is 4 times more expensive and does not give you the 'surgical' optics this tool gives you: yes, you have to bend with this small tool and is not good for my back with my arthritis and sciatica but how many times are you going to bend for the same weed ... show more

I love this tool! It's great for uprooting weeds, but also it's a better digger/tiller than a hand shovel or hand rake. This is my go-to tool for cultivating patches of bare/dead lawn for reseeding. The cutting parts of the tool hasn't been that useful to me yet, you'll still need your clippers. Great value too. ... show more

I have prickly flat weeks with deep roots that are impossible to get. This tool is amazing, Stab it in, pry them up easily in one large piece, root at all. I have clay rocky soil and had no issues with the most difficult weeds. I’m so happy!!!! This tool is so useful I also use the saw edge while out gardening and an unexpected need arises. I have a large property one tool that does so much means I’m not lugging a ton or having to walk all the way back to the garage. Handle fits well in my hand and it feels very sturdy. I will be praising this handy tool as much as possible it’s better than any other weeder I’ve tried by far. ... show more

Grandpa's weeder is good for the small stuff---but it broke when trying to go big (they replaced it !!), Then I tried the Fiskers one---broke at the plastic pry point. Got another one---broke at the plastic pry point!! Both from Home Depot and both returned. This one is much more heavy-duty. I have many LARGE weeds in a one-acre lawn. It has a longer handle for better prying, and the grab handle lets you pull up as you pry for more pulling power, and less strain on the tool. BUT---today I noticed it was not grabbing the weeds well, often just slipping off? Then I noticed it now has only 3 prongs---not 4. One of the smooth prongs is missing. Broke off smooth--weird. They are now sending me another one--hope it works. Works well, but I do wish the smooth prongs had ridges to grab better---think I may file small notches in the new one. ... show more

Product was excellent for a while but recently broke at the bottom of the shaft. It says lifetime warranty but so far I haven't figured out how to request a new one so unsure of the company.

Concept great but very thin metal which easily bends. Very lightweight and not durable. Used for a few minutes of weeding on moderately loose soil and metal portion was starting to bend already.
