  • Comfortable; Good value in a thoughtful package
Color: C2-light Black*3 & Leopard*2 (With C... Magnification Strength: 4.0 x
The glasses are nicely made: lightweight, with a shape that is flattering and spring hinges that are durable and fit snugly and don’t fall off. Of the two black and tortoiseshell assortment I ordered, I like the looks of the tortoise shell best, but that is a matter of personal preference. This set of glasses came thoughtfully individually packaged in small Ziploc bags, with a tiny screwdriver on a keychain, simple glasses holders to wear them around your neck if you wish, cleaning cloth, and a tiny blue light flashlight (to explore the degree of blue blocking?). One of the tortoiseshell pairs has lenses that seem not to be of the highest quality. There is a central area where the focus and convergence of the lenses is quite good and a sense that the focus is less sharp at the edges. The other tortoiseshell pair also seems not quite as uniformly sharp but it’s hard to tell without optical measuring instruments. The other three pairs, the black ones, seem to be just fine with clear vision across the range out to the edges of the lens. All five pairs are usable. it’s hard to draw a firm conclusion from the small sample about whether the black ones are consistently better in quality or whether this is just a chance sampling (or an error in my personal observation ability) . in any case, I am quite satisfied with the purchase and the low price per pair of glasses. ... show more

  • Imo, not great for reading during daylight but a help for late night blue light blocking.
Color: C1-light Black*3 & Leopard*2 Magnification Strength: 1.0 x
I had a lot of difficulties with the coating on these lenses. There are rainbows that reflect off the rainbow coating back into my eyes off the glasses, especially if I have any bright light coming at me from the side. They always look smudged even if they are freshly cleaned, and I’m doing everything I can to only touch the frames. This is both because they seem to attract smudges and because the coating itself somehow looks smudged. For me, these are just awful for reading during daylight. I cannot yet speak to their scratch resistance. BUT there has been a very happy side effect of trying these glasses, and that is that it really does help a bit with sleep. While I was waiting on new glasses from another company, I ended up doing more nighttime reading than usual and used these glasses as a stopgap with breaks to ease my discomforts. (They still aren’t truly good for me for reading, even in low light, although they are less problematic in low light late at night than they are in bright indoor daylight/office light.) At night, I turn off regular lights and use red light reading lights, but these really can’t make up for the amount of blue light that many of us get in our windows from city lights or floodlights on garages. I have a blackout curtain in my bedroom, but it’s really not possible in my living space. I also use blue Bleblocker sunglasses for those nighttime activities where I can see well enough with them on. But unfortunately that means removing the blublockers quite often, as such dark and large lenses are really prohibitive for a lot of tasks. And I’m pretty late to put them on, simply because I want to get as many things done at night as I can... for which I need better eyesight. Therefore, I noticed a distinct benefit in having to use these reading glasses while waiting for my other glasses to arrive. As a result of this discovery, I have purchased zero magnification glasses from this same seller. I have noticed that almost anywhere else you look the blue blocking reading glasses that you can get block at most 30 to 35% of the blue light that comes in directly through the lens (never mind what’s coming in through the side). I imagine that this number is simply because of the difficulty in making a coating that maintains clarity, etc.. while the lenses that only have a 30 to 35% protection will be helpful for me when I need to read at night, I can put this company’s 0.0 on for anything else that I am doing late at night where the blublockers would impede my vision too significantly. Also, their customer service is unparalleled, so five stars for that. UPDATE: I made an interesting discovery as I’ve been testing out my newer readers that are only supposed to block 30-34% blue light. I decided to use the blue light testing card that comes with these Amazon glasses on my assorted readers from F——r G—-t. I had purchased quite a few clearance readers and sunglass bifocals because I still wasn’t 100% sure I had the right diopter strength. One of my FG’s was supposed to be a blue light blocking “e.reader” but was only supposed to block up to 34% of blue light. Using the test card with these glasses side by side and shining the light for about a minute back and forth, I discovered that the FGs performed just as well, probably a little better, as the area under them seems to be a purer white. And their lenses have high clarity. I have no idea how much blue light needs to pass through before the strip turns purple, but the card provides at least some indication that the blue light is getting blocked. With that in mind I thought maybe I should test my non-blue light FG readers. I actually don’t want to block blue light first thing in the morning, and indeed, two of my readers offered zero blue light protection as they were advertised. But interestingly, another FG reader that was not advertised as having any blue light or UVA/UVB protection performed just as well as the ones that were advertised to block blue light. And the bifocal FG sunglasses did too. So now I have more questions about how much light is really being blocked by these Gaoye glasses and by the FG ones that block the blue light. I know that they block little compared to my blublocker sunglasses (With those I can literally look directly at a device I have that has a huge blue power light larger than my hand and barely make out any hint of color). But I also know that using the Gaoye for an extended time helped my sleep. I am guessing that these Gaoye glasses should be advertised more in the 30% range (not counting what comes in from the side). But I’m still glad to have purchased some in zero magnification, given that blublockers are simply not practical to wear most of the time. Since some FG readers performed just as well on the card test as the Gaoye, I have retired my less clear 1.0 Gaoye, however. ... show more

  • Great cheaters for the price
Color: B1-5 Pack Light Black Magnification Strength: 2.5 x
I use these glasses as cheaters with my iPad and PC, so much of the day. I find these glasses to be somewhat sharper/clearer and do seem to help with the blue light. They are comfortable and the frames see relatively sturdy, have not broken as yet like some reviews showed. I’ve worn glasses for years so my be a little more gentle placing them on/off. On the other hand they are cheap enough that if one does break or get lost, I am not out a lot of money. For my money, highly recommended with quick delivery. ... show more

  • Attractive. Great Fit.
Color: A1-5 Pack Mix Color Magnification Strength: 1.75 x
I watched the videos before purchasing these reading glasses. I was most concerned with fit. I’m tired of glasses falling down my nose. The reviews were great. Like one woman said, if you put your head down and the glasses stay put, they are a good fit. I did that test and the glasses didn’t move. I’m wearing them now. Other blue light blocking glasses I’ve bought seem blurry . Not these. I gave a pair to my husband and put the others around the places where I’ll need them. You can’t have too many readers. This is a good value. I’d buy again ... show more

Id definitely buy these again. I wear glasses on the top of my head. and have already bumped the glasses on a couple things. So far the only scuff buffed right out. Seem to be GREAT quality for the money. They are very clear and clean easily, The anti glare coating seems to be as good as any other I've ever seen. ... show more

  • 2nd time we've ordered these glasses...
Color: A1-5 Pack Mix Color Magnification Strength: 1.25 x
Both my husband and I use them daily, and after stepping on his last pair, I have NO idea why they were on the floor..., after 2 years it was time for another set. Even with his habit of twirling his glasses by the arms, we only needed to buy them again because of user error. These glasses are well made and the sight-line on them is correctly balanced so we don't get a headache. ... show more

Color: A1-5 Pack Mix Color Magnification Strength: 1.25 x
I'm down to 3 pairs because for some reason, my Lab puppy enjoys finding them and eating them--yes, he ate the lenses of 2 pairs. The glasses are lightweight and I***used*** to have a pair wherever I needed them at home. Not so much anymore. Will order another set when I'm down to one pair. (I am a long time dog owner and understand the lenses are not good for the dog--he keeps finding them even when they're put away. ... show more

  • Well made & great value
Color: B1-5 Pack Light Black Magnification Strength: 2.0 x
I gave these glasses a try because I was disappointed with the breakage that was occurring with the readers I bought at a popular home improvement center. The glasses I was buying had frames that cracked so easy either at the arms or around the lens. I believe they were made of some type of cellulose acetate plastic.......basically junk. I just got these and they appear to be well made, look good, provide good vision and were a great deal! We'll see how they hold up. ... show more
