  • Imo, not great for reading during daylight but a help for late night blue light blocking.
Color: C1-light Black*3 & Leopard*2 Magnification Strength: 1.0 x
I had a lot of difficulties with the coating on these lenses. There are rainbows that reflect off the rainbow coating back into my eyes off the glasses, especially if I have any bright light coming at me from the side. They always look smudged even if they are freshly cleaned, and I’m doing everything I can to only touch the frames. This is both because they seem to attract smudges and because the coating itself somehow looks smudged. For me, these are just awful for reading during daylight. I cannot yet speak to their scratch resistance. BUT there has been a very happy side effect of trying these glasses, and that is that it really does help a bit with sleep. While I was waiting on new glasses from another company, I ended up doing more nighttime reading than usual and used these glasses as a stopgap with breaks to ease my discomforts. (They still aren’t truly good for me for reading, even in low light, although they are less problematic in low light late at night than they are in bright indoor daylight/office light.) At night, I turn off regular lights and use red light reading lights, but these really can’t make up for the amount of blue light that many of us get in our windows from city lights or floodlights on garages. I have a blackout curtain in my bedroom, but it’s really not possible in my living space. I also use blue Bleblocker sunglasses for those nighttime activities where I can see well enough with them on. But unfortunately that means removing the blublockers quite often, as such dark and large lenses are really prohibitive for a lot of tasks. And I’m pretty late to put them on, simply because I want to get as many things done at night as I can... for which I need better eyesight. Therefore, I noticed a distinct benefit in having to use these reading glasses while waiting for my other glasses to arrive. As a result of this discovery, I have purchased zero magnification glasses from this same seller. I have noticed that almost anywhere else you look the blue blocking reading glasses that you can get block at most 30 to 35% of the blue light that comes in directly through the lens (never mind what’s coming in through the side). I imagine that this number is simply because of the difficulty in making a coating that maintains clarity, etc.. while the lenses that only have a 30 to 35% protection will be helpful for me when I need to read at night, I can put this company’s 0.0 on for anything else that I am doing late at night where the blublockers would impede my vision too significantly. Also, their customer service is unparalleled, so five stars for that. UPDATE: I made an interesting discovery as I’ve been testing out my newer readers that are only supposed to block 30-34% blue light. I decided to use the blue light testing card that comes with these Amazon glasses on my assorted readers from F——r G—-t. I had purchased quite a few clearance readers and sunglass bifocals because I still wasn’t 100% sure I had the right diopter strength. One of my FG’s was supposed to be a blue light blocking “e.reader” but was only supposed to block up to 34% of blue light. Using the test card with these glasses side by side and shining the light for about a minute back and forth, I discovered that the FGs performed just as well, probably a little better, as the area under them seems to be a purer white. And their lenses have high clarity. I have no idea how much blue light needs to pass through before the strip turns purple, but the card provides at least some indication that the blue light is getting blocked. With that in mind I thought maybe I should test my non-blue light FG readers. I actually don’t want to block blue light first thing in the morning, and indeed, two of my readers offered zero blue light protection as they were advertised. But interestingly, another FG reader that was not advertised as having any blue light or UVA/UVB protection performed just as well as the ones that were advertised to block blue light. And the bifocal FG sunglasses did too. So now I have more questions about how much light is really being blocked by these Gaoye glasses and by the FG ones that block the blue light. I know that they block little compared to my blublocker sunglasses (With those I can literally look directly at a device I have that has a huge blue power light larger than my hand and barely make out any hint of color). But I also know that using the Gaoye for an extended time helped my sleep. I am guessing that these Gaoye glasses should be advertised more in the 30% range (not counting what comes in from the side). But I’m still glad to have purchased some in zero magnification, given that blublockers are simply not practical to wear most of the time. Since some FG readers performed just as well on the card test as the Gaoye, I have retired my less clear 1.0 Gaoye, however. ... show more

  • Simple, comfortable, cheap readers
Color: B1-5 Pack Light Black Magnification Strength: 1.25 x
Relatively new to wearing readers in the last few years. I found I was either breaking or losing my more expensive glasses. After reading a lot of reviews I decided to take a gamble on this cheap 5 pack until I can trust myself not to break or lose a pair. Fit: Very comfortable. The hinges are sprung, but even though I have a wider head I can wear these at the computer all day with no issue. These help a lot with the blue light glare from screens but unlike some lenses, these are still very clear. The 1.25 magnification seems accurate. Build: Very lightweight, cheap plasticky feel. But no sharp edges from the frame molds, and the lenses seam good with no distortion. Can not critique whether the lenses are scratch resistant because I’ve only had them 1 week. Overall: Are these cheap glasses, yes. Do they look or feel as nice as my previous $25 a pair readers? no. Are these incredible value and worth buying at $15 for 5 pairs? Hell yes! They do look ok on too, very simple, and they work. ... show more

  • Too Small for My Face
Color: B1-5 Pack Light Black Magnification Strength: 0.0 x
I do like these reading glasses. I don't use them as reading glasses: I use them for their blue-light-blocking qualities. I was a bit wary of purchasing these seeing as unisex accessories rarely end well for me. Unisex necklaces, eyewear, and hats never really fit me as they should...always feeling "just a bit off." To my (not so) surprise, these are too small for my face. They're not so small that they're unwearable, but I do wish they offered a larger size. If you have a man's medium-sized head, then don't worry about the size. If you have a larger head, I would recommend searching elsewhere. Pros: + cheap + decently sturdy + come in a large supply + light-weight + blue-light-blocking Cons: - too small for my particular head - they slip downward throughout the hour, leaving me forced to do the "nerdy" push back up. ... show more

  • Buy this, you lose more than you think
Color: A2-5 Pack Mix Color (With Case) Magnification Strength: 1.0 x
If you feel dizzy, it is recommended that you return the glasses and order again. I highly recommend this product with many magnifying glasses. I put it in my car and in every room. You use it more than you think, find it, you lose more than you think. The color and shape are so pretty and it's easy to use. ... show more

  • Amazing value and quality
Color: B1-5 Pack Light Black Magnification Strength: 1.0 x
I was not expecting much for the price, but I have been very pleasantly surprised with this pack of glasses. They are durable and lightweight and do a great job at helping me read. I like that the +1.0 is an option (this is the first time in my life I've had to use readers, and I wanted to start as low as possible), and it works well for improving the clarity of what I am looking at. It also came with a blue light testing card and blue light flashlight...I couldn't figure out how to use it, so I can't speak to the blue light protection of these glasses, but I'll assume it's there since they included the tester. I will definitely reorder this product when I need additional or new glasses. ... show more

  • Great Readers
Color: B2-5 Pack Light Black (With Case) Magnification Strength: 2.0 x
These are awesome, second time purchasing a 5 pack. The last pack lasted quite a while and would have lasted longer if I didn't keep accidentally breaking them. They provide clear vision, block blue light, clean up nicely with soap and water, and don't scratch easily like othe brands I have tried.

  • Good buy
Color: E1-5 Pack Mix Color 2 Magnification Strength: 2.0 x
These reading glasses are great. The blue coating does seem to rub off with repeated cleaning (in spots). I clean mine several times a day due to wearing them on top of my head or handing on the front of my shirt for handy use. Overall they are a very good buy and work great.

  • These are great
Color: A1-5 Pack Mix Color Magnification Strength: 1.25 x
I wanted several pairs of reading glasses so that I could have back ups. I tend to misplace them. These are nicely constructed, pretty (or attractive- I think they are unisex), and comfortable. I like that they are also blue light shielding and that the price is very economical! This was so much better than buying 5 pair individually. ... show more
