I am so happy with this purchase, I started playing Stardew valley on Android and this little attachment makes it so much better. Charge thru works fine on my pixel 6a and OnePlus 6. I do have to remove the pixel from the case when I want to use it (Spigen armor case) but a thinner silicone one might not require that. I did not notice any major impact to battery life using this vs playing a game in touch mode. Some phones will require you to change the USB behavior for it to work, it does tell you that in the instruction booklet, my pixel did not but my OnePlus did. It feels very well made, controls feel tight and buttons are responsive. If there was a complaint I could give it, when clocking done if the buttons, specifically the shoulder buttons (L1/2, R1/2) there is a fairly loud auditable click, similar to say a Logitech mouse, it doesn't bother me but I suspect that could be a turn off for some people. Android is not great about telling you what games will support controllers (or to what extent, you might not be able to remap buttons for example) but that has nothing to do with this controller. For example final fantasy tactics:wotl (boo, this is one of, if not the best game ever made, I have been playing it since I was a kid and have hundreds of hours across so many play throughs, but I digress) does not support controllers, and for some games you might still need to physically touch the screen for some interactions like a menu confirmation. Thankfully I think RetroArch, the emulator version for Android has great support for controllers. If you want to make a cheap handheld to be able to kill time or give to a child I can't recommend this enough, I would def buy again if I need it.

I have learnt to respect Gamesir as a controller manufacturer after using some of their products: very good quality at super-competitive prices. The X2 Pro-XBox controller is just perfect, specially a this price point, and considering you get a month's subscription to XBox pass too. I have been using it daily with a mid-low end phone (Moto 5G Ace) and it is seriously making me reconsider the need of all the other dedicated handhelds that I own. It is super comfortable and love the fact that the triggers are analog too. Out of the box, It does not work with phones with a case, even if it is a very slim one. Do not worry, this is very easy to solve by cutting the rubber from the right side grip (use an x-acto knife or similar for best results). After doing this small modification, you will very likely be able to use it with the phone in a case. Of course, before voiding your warranty by doing this, test that it works with your phone with the case removed. The first hours were a bit frustrating because my phone would not recognize the controller. At some point I identified that the device was in DFU (Device Firmware Upgrade) mode, and not the regular one. Only after installing the Gamesir app and letting it upgrade the firmware, it started working normally. There are a few phones that are not compatible. It is not this controller's fault though. In my limited testing, I have identified that there are phones that do not support any joysticks at all (probably lack of built-in device drivers). In these cases, the controller also appears as in DFU mode (this can also be seen on the Gamesir app). In case of issues, it might be good to first test connecting a regular wired controller using an OTG USB adapter, to verify that the Android version supports controller devices. If you are on the verge, get one now. It is as good as other reviewers say.

I just upgraded my phone from the Galaxy S9+ which I would use with the original Kishi. That combination worked PERFECTLY, with a case on, and felt great in my hands, too. My new phone, the S23 Ultra, was not compatible with the Kishi as the phone is too large. This lead me to look for alternatives, but just about every option I've seen will not fit the S23 Ultra (or most other large phones) unless you take the phone out of the case. This seems to be a major oversight by all these mobile controller manufacturers as who in their right mind would have a $1400 phone without a case or want to constantly take it in and out of the case to fit into a game controller? Not me! After much research, I read that the Gamesir X2 Pro would fit the S23 Ultra with select cases if you modify the controller by cutting off part of the rubber next to the USB-C plug. I did this, since the rubber pieces get in the way of the plug and are pointless if you have a case, and it worked flawlessly. Connects to my S23 Ultra with the CASE ON and holds it tight. It also works with every game I've tried, including streaming services such as Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation Remote Play, and Steam Link. My only complaint with this controller, and it's a pretty big one, is that it has very poor ergonomics and is not comfortable to hold in my hands. This likely won't be an issue for everyone, but I have very large hands and with this controller lacking some sort of side grips, I cannot grip it comfortably without having my hands in awkward positions that lead to cramps. I especially liked that this controller has back buttons, as I've come accustomed to controllers with back buttons, but I cannot use them because I cannot get my large hands/fingers to move in a way to comfortably click them. With all this said, I find myself in quite the predicament...my phone is too big for all the other mobile controllers and my hands are too big for this controller. While I do like this controller over all, I have not quite decided whether or not I will be keeping it. For reference, I wear XL size gloves. If you wear S/M gloves, I have no doubt you will love this controller and I would highly recommend it. If you wear L gloves, you may be pushing your luck in terms of comfort.
