Overall a good quality costume piece. The fabric is lightweight and soft. I wish the stitching matched the fabric, but what do you expect? I dyed it for a costume piece and it took color evenly. Would buy again for renn fair or other event!

Due to the relatively simple styling, this shirt works well for the base shirt for many different historical men's costumes. Clearly the elastic smocking isn't authentic, but the look does seem plausible. Really like that it is 100% cotton (at least it is supposed to be, but no tag) and a nice weight/weave. Has the smallest bit of stretch and almost acts as if there is a small bit of viscose in it as it will drape when hung or worn. Not a bright white, so also seems a bit more authentic for historical costuming. ... show more

This cotton Tudor shirt is well-made. I didn't catch that the cuffs and neckline are all smocked elastic, but it makes sense from a modern view. Both the cuffs and the neckline can accommodate a number of different sized people. I added black cording ties to the neck and cuffs to close them a bit more authentically. I may stretch them both to the right size, then sew down the elastic line to create a stiffer smocking that will look more authentic, as well.
