My husband and I purchased 2 of these boards in July of 2020 after renting some rigid board on a camping trip. In the warmer months we board 2-3x per week on small lakes in the area. We travel with the boards when we go camping (where they get heavy use by our kids and other kids in our groups). We use them in cold water (the season is short in MN). And these boards have been amazing through it all. Last year, we purchased 2 supyaks, (brand name) that we expected to be upgrades… but this spring we are selling the supyaks, keeping the Funwaters and purchased 2 ridgid boards to add to our fleet. I recommend the Funwater boards to anyone who asks - they are a killer iSup for the value. I have boarded with friends who have 500-600$ boards and these perform as well and in some cases better. A couple of things to note: We have had to replace fins that were lost (which we ordered on the Funwater website). They were out of stock for a time and the 2 small fins had been re-designed and didn’t fit. This has not been a problem as we usually just use the larger fin to increase maneuverability. We felt the paddles that came with the board were fine - until we tried a better paddle. If you are planning to go any distance on your outings - do yourself a favor and upgrade to a carbon fiber paddle. I went from approx. 5 strokes/side to around 15 - much more efficient. We use both the manual pump and we purchased an electric pump that is bowered but an AC adapter in our car. I like to pump up the boards at home while I’m getting ready to go and transport them fully inflated so I get get on the water right when we get to the lake. All in all - perfect for a starter board or in our case, since buying the new ridgid boards, they will belong to our teenagers, but we are confident they still have a lot of life left and when the time comes, we will buy them again. ... show more

First off, let me say that This is the first SUP I've ever owned and this is only an initial review so take my review as you want, I will update after I use it a few times. I planned on buying 2 SUPs, one for my wife and one for myself. I decided to buy one of these just to see if I liked it and purchase the 2nd one after seeing it. My impression is that it seems pretty good for the price. I did a test inflation in my living room and everything went smoothly. It did take about 10 minutes to fill with the suppied pump and it does get pretty tough around 10psi. I originally thought the pump guage was broken but it's just that the SUP requires such a large volume of air that it takes a considerable amount of pumps to move the needle, especially at higher psi. Not a knock on the pump, just the reality that it takes more effort than I and probably most beginners expect. I let it sit for a couple of hours to make sure it held pressure which it did. So, being happy with my purchase, I ordered a second one. The second one arrived with the corner of the box damaged and the edge of the board was visible. I could see the pvc had been damaged and the stitching was exposed so I immediately put in for a replacement which was sent out immediately. I did notice on my 2nd SUP, as others have said, the paddle wouldn't stay locked in position. The locking lever is a poor design with no room for adjustment. I was able to remove the upper (handle) portion of the paddle, and squeeze the clamp by hand while spinning the lever a full 360 which tightened the screw within the clamp. It worked but I'm not sure for how long and there's not enough room to spin it another rotation so at this point, it is what it is. Another minor negative is that although the bag is big enough to carry everything supplied, pump, paddle and all. I do wish there was a separate compartment for smaller items like the fins but it's not the end of the world People also complained about deflating the SUP which i found incredibly easy. Simply reattach your pump and disconnect the hose from the pump side. Hold the hose because it will whip around if you don't. Lay, kneel or whatever you want on the board and fold it back the way it came. ... show more
