The Good: The kit arrived quickly, the wrinkles in the canvas mostly ironed out okay, and I really liked two out of the 3 brushes that came with the kit. I'll be keeping those with my other paint brushes. It did also keep me busy for a few days, and since I'll be treating it as an underpainting it will continue to keep me busy for a few more, I think. The Bad: The paints themselves were either not great or maybe it was the canvas/printing, or a combo of all of the above. Either way the numbers and lines were VERY hard to cover. I ended up giving the whole canvas a whitewash to sort of dull out the lines/numbers with some white paint I had on hand, and I still had to go over the numbers with a white paint pen right before I painted the areas. The only reason some areas look colored at all was because I basically used an impasto-like technique there to really glob on the paint. If you even thought about dampening your brush, or only going over an area once, the paint seemed to sense that and would refuse to cover the white of the canvas. lol The Ugly: In my photo the picture on the left is what they say it should look like, picture on the right is what the finished product looks like. I mean, you can tell that it is in fact some flowers in a bucket on a chair in front of a wooden wall. Some of the flower petals are even pinkish. That's about where the similarities end though. There's not even a hint of blue to the chair they have you paint, a few flowers are missing, the ones that are there appear to not be doing so well (I mean, they're turning brown. I'm no florist, but I'm pretty sure browning means they are past their prime.) ... show more
