I have always wanted an item made by Frye leather. Their bags and boots are very expensive. I thought that I would treat myself to a Frye wallet. I was so impressed when I first received it. It looked lovely. After one week the leather looked like I had used it for five years. There are so many scuff marks all over the wallet. It is also very heavy. I am retired and hardly go anywhere. Love the wallet style, color, quality of materials and worksmanship. But, you can't be bothered by oil tanned real leather 'scratches' or scrapes that occur under normal use or you won't be happy. However, this is a property of natural good smooth oil tanned leather and not a product defect. Those who know the difference in quality will not be bothered by the finish. Oddly enough, I used to own this wallet in another color several years ago, and ended up giving it to someone else because I hadn't liked it then.
