Description

A squared toe and brushed-metal harness detail lend rough-and-ready charm to this supple leather boot. The Harness boot from Frye is a classic with some seriously rugged character. The quality leather complements the look of its timeless shape, while the studded leather strap at the ankle provides a hint of urban style. P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States. Founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a well-to-do shoemaker from England, and family-run until 1945, Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers on both sides of America's Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-American war, and by Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. When home-steading drew adventurous New England families to the West during the mid and late 1800's many of the pioneers wore Frye Boots for the long journey. Today Frye remains true to its roots with its line of heritage boots, but continues to innovate as it introduces chic new handbags, pumps, and sandals to its collection. See more

  • Great Boots
Size: 10 Color: Tan
I'd had my eye on these boots for over a year and finally bit the bullet and invested in them after finding what I knew to be a great price, especially for Frye. They fit great (I wear a 10, which fits me perfectly in 90% of shoes) - plenty of room so that my toes don't push against the end (a huge pet peeve of mine, especially for boots) and room for thicker socks, but not so big that my feet slosh around inside when I walk. While they do run a hair big, personally I would not recommend going down a half size. I do have a fairly narrow foot, and when I wore them with a slightly heavier weight cotton sock they were snug (not tight) across the widest part of my foot, something I think will loosen up as I break them in. You might have a bit of trouble if your feet run wide. They're definitely on the stiff side, and will take some breaking in. My first night out in them involved a decent amout of walking-then-sitting-for-a-while-then-more-walking-and-repeat around downtown Cincinnati - they were comfortable, but they are a little heavy in general, and after a few hours I was ready to give my feet a rest. I think after a few more wearings the stiffness will loosen up and they'll be ready for more extensive walking and standing. As far as style, they are SUPER cute. They look awesome with pretty much everything, and I love the Tan color. I think these are going to be a great pair of forever boots. ... show more

  • Good for walk
Made in the USA. I bought this black boots for traveling during winter season so I don't need to pack extra shoes. It's strong enough for daily long walks; the design is okay for afternoon tea / fine dining (because it's plain black). Easy to remove (I have a couple of Charlie Horse boots by Lucchese – my husband always helped me to remove). I put “Fit as expected” because I read some reviews mentioned it’s running small, and I learned from experience, so I always bought boots that 1/2 size larger because I need rooms to remove boots that don't come with zippers, and better for long walks. I normally wear 6.5 US, so I bought 7M US. I could have bought 6.5 but I might have problem to take it out because of the "narrowness" (please note this if you have wide feet). More rooms for my toes and heels are better for long walks - more relaxed. Leather (no lining) insole – which is very important for me because my skin get itch with synthetic materials. Nice look of square and hard toe box. Vamp feels strong. It’s comfortable to wear for three all day long walks. The narrowness doesn’t feel narrow anymore. Shaft: smooth and soft leather. Outsole, welt, heel are not leather – I intentionally choose this hoping it will not slippery. Good boots! ... show more

  • Versatile
I bought these a while back from a different retailer. I hated the quality, they looked used and beat up and felt big. I got my usual size 5.5 and were lose at the heel. So, I returned them. However, time went by, and I could not stop thinking about them! After long searching for the all over black style I was ecstatic to have found them on Amazon and for less $. Ordered them, but again same issue with the quality from previous pair. I decided to overlook it and kept them, I arrange the harness part to keep my heel in place and that has helped. These boots really do look good and make me feel cool and amazing. I love bringing them out and wearing the heck out them. I’ve worn them to music festivals, to work events and happy hours. They really do go with almost everything, would love to get the 15 R style as well. I love Frye, these are my 4th pair! ... show more

  • Beautiful Boots
Size: 6 Color: Tan
I've been eyeing Frye boots for years, and finally bought a pair. I'm glad I did! The fit is great, they are comfortable and sturdy, and the leather is beautiful. I am normally a 6, the these were true to size. They were a bit difficult to pull on at first, but I'm glad I did not size up, as the sole was the correct length. It becomes easier to put them on over time. The only thing that I would note is that they are slightly narrow for me, but my feet are on the wider side. If I wear these all day, I get blisters and pressure on my pinkie toes, but it's otherwise not an issue. The support in these was a selling point for me. I have high arches and have two pairs of kid's Fryes, and they are not even comparable. They are flat and have thin soles, while these have a great footbed and sturdy heels. To sum it up, I would definitely recommend these boots. The quality is fantastic and I expect them to last for many years. ... show more
