I'm so glad I bought these boots! After months of research, I finally decided on Frye Campus to replace my favorite (quickly dying) boots. They are classy enough to go well with both casual and dressed-up outfits, and sturdy enough that I don't have to worry about buying a new pair next year. These are my all-purpose boots: I wear them around town, as well as on-the-job as a photographer and web designer when meeting with clients. They are subtly western. Surprises: -The toe isn't as square as it looks in the photo, but I'm perfectly happy with the mostly-round toe. -If you buy Dark Brown Soft Vintage, the shade is a bit darker than what it appears in the photo, especially in the shaft of the boot. I bought DBSV, despite wanting a different shade, because it was on sale, so I was glad that it turned out to be a darker brown than it appears in the photo. You should know: -Out of the box, these boots are straight up-and-down, just as they appear in the photo. At first I felt like I was wearing rain boots, which I didn't like. But after a week or two of wear, the ankles began to settle and get the crumpled, worn look of western boots, which I love. -When you first try these on and walk around, the heel of the boot will drop to the ground before your foot does. You will get used to that--it's not a problem, it just feels like one at first. -Buy 1/2 a size down. My perfect size is 8.5, so I bought 8 and they fit perfectly. -Take care of your leather! Buy a conditioner and a high-quality weather proofing spray if you want these babies to last. Also be sure to have a cobbler fit a half-sole on the front of the boot and replace the heel rubber when it wears down. Hope this review helps. ... show more

Size: 6.5 Color: Black - Greasy Leather
I have a 10 pairs of Frye boots and have always wanted a pair of the campus.,so I did it. I purchased my true size and they are pretty stiff but exceptionally made. True Frye with the stitching, wonderful construction and delicious leather smell. It will take some effort to break in but willing to put in the work for these beauties. I have about an 1 1/4 at toe box of room and the width I would say is true to normal. You will need to go to cobbler to PNW them from the wetness but I have done this to all my shoes from Frye and they all are in immaculate condition. So do it . I purchased to blk and I love them. The seller Outdoor Equiped had them to me 4 days early and the boots were packaged great . I trust this seller .Now I’m gonna be new boot goofin 😜 ... show more

The boots are beautiful, exactly what my daughter wanted. Unfortunately she wears a size 9-9.5, but also has very slim legs, so the boots looked enormous on her. I think the calf circumference increases with each half size, but that was not in the details. Since she had plenty of foot room in the 9.5, we are going to try ordering an 8-8.5, to see if they are slimmer through the calf. Fingers crossed! ... show more

Best boots on the planet. If you know the history of Frye (from 1863 to now) you'll understand. My ancestors (1898) wore Frye boots, as well as my grandfather in WW2, (Jet Boots). They have a long history in the US and millions of miles have been walked in their boots over all the others. In the 60's and 70's the campus Frye boot was the only boot everyone had to have. If you think about all the walking, rough riding on horses, and traveling by foot it suddenly dawns on you why Frye?...Because they are the best in the world. Frye boots walked us right into the future with great comfort, and long lasting boots. Frye is the one and only boot company in business steadily from then to now, they are the Midas of boots, and the company works within very high standards. Our organization loves Frye Company, and all their artistic boots, shoes, sandals and more. They are the master artists of foot wear for sure. (I will update this review when we receive the next pair ordered-waiting... UPDATE: July 8, 2015. Campus 14L Saddle (size 9) arrived in 8 days fedex smartpost, through the USPS. They are "true to size" and are actually narrow. Wide feet should order C-E if they have it. The boots are perfect, but need to be broken in. Very snug in toe and top of foot area. Definitely could use a stretcher. Leather is thick, the grain is nice. Wearing them warms them to your feet and starts the natural stretching. I do wear orthotics and I walk better with them. These boots prevent me from hobbling myself without too much of a heel. Very comfy and durable -will last a very long time. Cannot go wrong with FRYE, and they are indeed Made In The USA! I was eyeing these for a while...a long while, during which time I bought 2 other pairs of boots (not Fryes) and I returned them for being bulky and/or uncomfortable and cheaply made....so I finally took the financial plunge and am very happy I did. These are solid, well made (in USA!) and very cute with a skirt or jeans, I get a lot of comments on them...they make me feel good wearing them and my feet feel good too (they are comfortable on their own but for long days there's also room for my orthodics!) I usually where an 8-81/2 and I bought an 8 based on other reviews that say they run big, the 8's fit great.... and now I am going to buy myself a pair in black. Although one downside is that I live in Canada and they aren't shipped here so I need to wait for my next trip south to get them I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 since I haven't had them long enough to know how they hold up with time, but so far so good! ... show more

I had ordered these boots in a 8 1/2. I normally am a 9. They were too small. I believe a 9 would have been fine. I had owned two pair of Frye boots back in the 70's, so I know a bit about them. Wish I had kept them !!!! These were much different. I ordered the banana color which was beautiful, but one boot was smooth leather, a little dry looking and the other was semi-smooth and pebbled. They did not match side by side, looked like two different boots. I contacted customer service and they were wonderful. I received a full refund within 24 hours and re-ordered the Sabrina 14L in Sunrise size 9. Received them in 3 days and am 100% happy with my new pair. ... show more

I placed my order before reading the reviews because I knew I wanted these boots and I knew the quality and how they fit. I needed them for a trip to Aspen and this “Amazon store” posted a delivery date that would have them arriving before my trip. The shipping was delayed but still going to be here on time, and then delayed again and they didn’t show up before I left. I then read all of the reviews and the horror stories from other customers, I knew I would never see the boots or get something unacceptable. To my surprise, a few days after I got home from my trip the boots arrived. 10 days late but the boots are perfect. They are the classic Campus 14L, brand new, rich leather in Banana and true to size. Not sure I would order from this company again but the product was exactly what I wanted. I just wasn’t as cute in Aspen as I wanted to be.😂 ... show more

I've been wearing Frye boots for many years and while they don't make 'em like they used to..... these campus boots are as good as it gets these days. I have 3 vintage pairs of campus boots with the black label (pre-1979) which are of awesome quality. Bought these for my daughter; Amazon's price is the same as Frye's and Amazon is much easier to deal with in the event of returns etc. She needed to get the wide calf option (she works out a lot) - they fit great and while the leather and manufacturing quality may not be what it used to be, my daughter loves her Fryes. ... show more
